First time coming here. Atmosphere was very pleasing, service was absolutely wonderful!!, food was excellent!! I am a very picky eater and this is the first time anywhere that my order was done correctly!!! Our waiter was very attentive and we never had to wait for refills either. I liked the fact they seemed to have one person going around filling everyones drinks.
Other than being a bit pricey.. this is the best restaurant I have been to in a long time!

Went with a small party of 15 people. Prices were fair, waiting staff was polite, but food quality was lacking. Mainly just doneness of meat. I’m giving it 1 star since they weren’t even close to as requested. Well done burgers were very rare and rare steaks were well done. Im not from the area but locals seemed to be very fond of the place, I just don’t see it…

The Barnstormer is 100% reliable. This is the best restaurant in the area. I have been coming here for many years. I usually have a steak, but I have had some great seafood entrees, as well. On my last visit, I had the roasted filet and it was beautifully done. Upgrade to the twice baked potato for one of your sides- You will not be disappointed. Calamari is great. Creme brulee for dessert is wonderful. The service is always very attentive.
You can sit in the dining room or the bar, depending on what you are looking for. The bar is a little more lively.

A disappointment to say the least. I lived in Monmouth for over 20 years and always had the highest regards for the Barnstormer restaurant. Bernie had the concept down. Ten of us went for a friends birthday this evening and it was such a let down. It took us 2 1/2 hours for dinner. The service was poor, the food was average and to top it off, not one of the 5 checks was correct when it was time to pay. We won’t be back. Apparently we aren’t the only ones who have seen the decline in quality. It was graduation weekend at Monmouth College. In the past, the Barnstormer would have been jam packed…there were plenty of empty tables. Sad.

Worst upper end restaurant I have ever visited. The place stank from cat order to the point of sinus disruption. The waitress coud not answer basic menu questions. My menu had a huge food fiinger print on it. The gumbo soup was perfect. I ordered a rare steak and it arrived near well done and cold as heck. The potato was cold so that the butter didn’t melt . The wife orderd meduim done and go rare. When I pointed out to waitress the steak issue I then noticed our oders had been switch as we had ordred two different cuts. The waitress could ID the cut and denied the switch.
The cook started yelling and stared at us.

This was hands down the best food I’ve ever ate anywhere! My hats off to the chef! And the atmosphere was relaxing and our waiter Brice was the best !! We will be back next time we are in town!!
