Social Profile:

After spending years in the technology industry, and most recently Microsoft, Julien Hervet started a cottage business in his garage following his true passion – wine. His love of the noble grape and his home country of France drove him to build Cépaé as first, an importing and distribution business and now as a tasting room located in the heart of Bellevue, Washington. Julien’s main desire is to bring wines from lesser known regional producers to the American market while both supporting small wineries and educating the public on the great diversity of options available in the wine world. Enjoy French Wines directly imported from France!

Took full advantage of Seattle’s last sunny day!
The wines were excellent, and the focaccia was delicious, perfectly crisp and flavorful. While the dinner menu doesn’t offer many vegetarian options, it’s still a great spot for a casual evening. Ideal for a quick date night with a glass of wine in hand and a cozy vibe as the sun sets!

We enjoyed a lovely Valentine’s Day brunch at Cesar. It was a wonderful experience. The food was delicious and beautifully prepared and presented, the wine selection was impressive and we will be returning. Thank you Julian for your hospitality, it was much appreciated.

From the moment we sat down, this charming French café delivered an unforgettable dining experience that raised the bar on every level. The service was nothing short of impeccable—attentive, knowledgeable, and warm, without ever feeling intrusive. It truly felt like we were being hosted rather than served, which elevated the entire experience.

The wine list was a standout on its own—curated with intention and filled with unique selections that delighted the palate. Each glass we tried offered something unexpected yet balanced, and perfectly complemented the flavors of our meal.

We started with warm, freshly baked sourdough served alongside rich, velvety French butter—simple, but executed with such care it set the tone for the rest of the meal. The pastries were intricate and stunning, with layers of texture and flavor that spoke to the craftsmanship behind the scenes. Every bite felt like a work of art.

This café doesn’t just serve food—it delivers a true taste of French culinary tradition, thoughtfully adapted into an intimate, elevated dining experience. We left feeling not only satisfied, but inspired. A true gem worth revisiting.

I was introduced to Cépaé by my friends today. The pastries and tea are simply amazing, but I am more obsessed with the bears in this place. I know they’re just stuffed animals, but who can’t resist sitting next to a stuffed bear in this cute place?

The service is great, staff is very friendly and super patient. I ordered the blueberry pastry and it was delicious. There wasn’t a lot left considering it was an hour before closing so I may stop by again in the future.

Stopped for a glass of wine and had a dessert. The strawberry and rhubarb tart was a nice treat for the 15k steps.

Came for an afternoon glass of wine. Only six wine options? Not sure I would call that a Parisian experience at all. Rather disappointing wine selection.

Given the poor service, lack of attention to detail, and the disappointing customer service skills displayed during my visit, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend Cépaé to anyone seeking an enjoyable dining experience. It’s a shame that a potentially great dining spot fails so miserably in the most crucial aspects of hospitality. Save your time and money by exploring other options in the area where you’ll receive the service and attention you deserve.

Additionally, these desserts should be incredible considering the hefty $15 and $16 price tag. But both were mediocre and poorly flavored facades attempting to masquerade as fine French desserts.

My wife and I’s visit to Cepae was a terrific experience! We decided to sit at the bar during happy hour. My wife tried a flight of 3 different white wines and I decided to try a flight of 3 different red wines plus adding in their happy hour wine on their menu.

You can pretty much try any wine they have available for a very affordable price, especially being in Downtown Bellevue! Most of the wines you’re able to “taste” for between $2.00 and $3.00 from what I could remember. Their happy hour menu was quite tasty as well as we chose to get a little tasting place of cheeses, meats, and other hors d’oeuvres…bread with butter was yummy too!

The service is top notch, their sommelier, who served us was very knowledgeable and made our experience even better.

On a nice day, you’re able to sit outside. They even serve coffee from Victrola Coffee Roasters, sell French pastries and other products, and you can purchase unique wines that you’re unable to find in most of the big box retailers since they have a direct relationship with the manufacturers.

We will definitely go back to Cepae and try some other wines. This place trumps the other wine spots imho… Enjoy!

One of the coolest new places around!! Cépaé International Tasting Room is a tip of the hat to Woodinville’s beautiful wineries; they offer a selection (growing weekly it seems) of some of the greatest wine producers the world has.
Their unique concept offers EVERY wine by ‘tasting’ size (0.5oz) and ‘glass’ size (5oz); ranging from a few dollars for a taste to 99$ for a glass of Echezeaux Grand Cru or Chateau Calon Segur ‘10. In addition they offer all the bottles by retail at amazing prices.
Attached to the ‘tasting room’ is the amazing La Parisienne Bakery. They have an amazing menu that lines up to wine pairings but also showcases an authentic French menu that anyone can learn and enjoy.
I’d recommend to anyone that loves the different cultures of the world; but even more so to those that are learning about wine, Cépaé will let you try tons of new world and old world wines. Let them know your industry!!

Great coffee and pastries. The wine bar and Parisian cafe share the space. Saturday night and there is a great band playing French jazz. We will stay to try the Happy Hour menu at 9pm.
