We made a 5pm reservation for dinner and were seated as soon as we arrived. The server was friendly and helpful although we were greated by more than 1 it took them a minute to determine who was actually taking care of us. Our meal started with the trio of guacamole. Surprisingly delicious and complex. 100% recommend. I ordered the seafood dried rice. The calamari was incredible tender and my husband had the steak tacos, which he raved about!

The restaurant has very high ceiling and as the place filled up, it got loud. Like, it’s hard to have a conversation loud. It wouldn’t stop us from coming back…we cant wait to check out brunch!

Hola mi Gente Who is hungry?
We have gone to there sister restaurant Océano and when we heard about their new location we had to come and check it out Well let me tell you this place was busy and we did have wait a bit but the wait was worth it, the food was really good and the vibe was too. We got the Flautas, ceviche (has heat) Farmers taco and Roasted Pork over Tostone . Everything was so good and we did not try other food because my belly was full but we are going back Really good happy hours and delicious food so check them out.

For fans of Oceano Restaurant, this opening is a welcome addition to the area! Offering a more casual vibe and menu, Centro is perfect for a casual date, girls night out or dinner with family. Their Latin-inspired menu will be fun to explore.
We started with drinks: caipirinha, a raspberry pisco sour and canned Tecate. The caipirinha is not on the menu but they were happy to make it.
We jumped right into dinner and enjoyed tacos: carnitas and carne asada, which my husband said were done perfectly. We all enjoyed the side of refried beans and rice—the beans were perfectly seasoned and delicious!
We are so happy to have this restaurant in the neighborhood! Can’t wait to go back!

What a wonderful find! This restaurant specializes in Latin cuisine, and has some very nice offerings from Peru. The staff is wonderful, friendly, and accommodating. It is conveniently located at Westchester Commons, next to Commonwealth Pediatrics. The dining area is spacious and well organized. My meal was excellent and I highly recommend giving this new restaurant a try. You will not be sorry!

So excited to find a restaurant in the Richmond area with some Peruvian dishes. Richmond sorely needs an authentic Peruvian restaurant!

Centro is very nice inside. Seating is a bit hard, especially
for older hips and backsides. Not somewhere we would hang out for a long time and drink Pisco Sours.

First, we had to have a Pisco Sour and opted for the passion fruit flavor. Delicious but we didn’t taste much Pisco for the $14 price.

The Leche de Tigre Ceviche was flavorful, but the fish was stringy and our dish did not come with the traditional accoutrements (choclo, concha, and sweet potato). It was also a very small portion for $18. Appropriate pricing for the portion would be more like $12. That, or enlarge the portion, which is actually more in line with what you would get at a Peruvian restaurant. It would be in a flatter, wider dish and be served with a large spoon to dish out all of that Leche de Tigre goodness.

The Lomo Saltado was delicious. Canastas has been lacking in flavor lately, so it was nice to enjoy the dish as it was intended. And thank you Centro for making it with Filet, which is a must! The best (closest to Richmond) is done by Inka Social in Vienna. They somehow achieve a caramelization on their beef that is amazing.

Lastly we had the Chaufa, which is the Peruvian version of fried rice. This was the best—both in flavor profile and the tender mixture of seafood.

We will go back and try other dishes. We wish Centro all the best!

I ordered a very tasty meat dish, by the way, and I’m not complaining about the price of $28 for the dish plus a drink. My frustration is that I tried to take my food to go and forgot the box on the table. Less than a minute later, they threw it away. When I came back, they just told me to throw away my box. I’m a little angry because it’s the first time a waitress has ever thrown away my takeout box. The drinks were just okay, nothing special. They took about 15 minutes to make them even though there were only two tables.

Went with a party of 4 for dinner on Saturday at 6pm. I highly recommend a reservation as it was already busy but I would say making a reservation is not easy as you need to call.
The menu was Latin with food from various Latin countries but would say it’s leans more on Peruvian , Colombian , and Mexican food. I had the Asada with a perfectly cooked Skirt Steak. The portion size was great and absolutely cooked to perfection. The Chicken Mole Enchiladas are flavorful but are traditional which gives it a unique taste of sweet , spice , grittiness, and bitterness. I love Mole and loved the flavor but may not typical for someone who hasn’t had it before.
I am excited for this restaurant and will be back especially when they open up for brunch.

Overall excellent and definitely worth coming back to!

Picture is what’s left of our Churro plate, delicious!

Tried the Carnita Tacos (good) and the Carne Asada Tacos (great).

The Empanada was delicious as well and Masa Fried vs traditional dough.

Prices are a bit all over, but there are affordable options in the Tacos (no sides) and then pricey, but delicious looking entrees. Drinks were also a bit pricey, but certainly not limited on the alcohol content. 😉

I’ve here twice in one week! The food is amazing. The drinks are very good and there’s no skimping on alcohol. Highly recommend the Fajita Asada! The atmosphere is relaxed but with an upscale vibe. The servers are attentive and friendly! Much needed variety at WC Commons!

This place is so good. We ordered carry out this evening and the fajita asada was maybe the best skirt steak I’ve ever had. We are big fans of Oceano and this place is just as good but with a much more Peruvian focus. Highly recommend.
