During my time at this restaurant the food and service was good, yet I was a little let down in the atmosphere. I wanted to eat at a fancy quiet Italian restaurant when I was in Des Moines and it was just more of a regular atmosphere where all the customers were loud. The food was solid you get a lot but it is on the pricey side. The service was great our waiter was very nice but he wasn’t the most informative on what to get due to us asking because we had never been there. I got the homemade cavatelli which is the second picture. My friends got a burger and soup and the Tuscan panini. Then we all shared the bruschetta.

Everything here exceeded any expectations we had! The service was on-point, food was spectacular, and drinks were delicious! The ingredients tasted so fresh! The meats in each dish were perfectly juicy! We had everything from the salads to the pastas to the pizza. Everything was absolute perfection! We came here to make up for a bad Valentine’s Day dinner at another resto the night before and wow, did they make up for it…Not only is their pricing extremely fair, but the portions are huge, and the service/ambience/everything is arguably the best in DSM!!!

Nice Italian place with a slightly casual vibe with pizzas, pastas, steaks, seafood, and good cocktails. We particularly enjoyed the crab cakes, the red sauce pasta with Italian sausage, and most of all the 8 oz filet centro – perfectly prepared rare and super tender!

I love Italian food and this is one of the better options in the Des Moines area, although it is not my favourite. The food is extremely flavourful, the atmosphere is fancy but not overly decadent, the service prompt without feeling smoothering and the prices reasonable if not a just little high. I’m particularly fond of their Gnocchi and think it’s the highlight of their menu.

I took my kids here before a show and it was amazing! We truly loved everything that was served. If ever back in the area we will certainly come back. There was no wait, we had no issues parking midweek, and service was good. This restaurant is accessible. I would say best for date nights or special occasions but if you have well behaved children they fit right in as well!

Was in town for 3 days and ended up going back twice. Amazing food and service. Was there for lunch and then grabbed dinner the next night. The onion rings are ridiculous, so good. I had sausage pizza- Top 5 all time favorite.

I was suggested this restaurant and went there this afternoon. The food was delicious until I found insect or cockroach. I was totally upset and had horrible experience. I am a vegetarian and ordered vegetarian meal but ended up eating food which had insect in it. Attaching picture as well.

Just heard about Centro ladt week and thought it was worth the 1.5 hr drive to check it out on Mothers day. It did not disappoint. You open the doors and walk into friendly staff and white tablecloths. The atmosphere was upscale but not pretentious so dont be worried about if you are dressed up enough or not. We had the cheese dip that came with onions, mushrooms and garlic in it with a side of grilled peta bread to start. The meal also came with fresh baked roles that had delicious onion/ garlic baked into it. We made our own large pizza and it is large. Very generous with the toppings. Crust had that good balance of charred texture to hold everything together but soft and airy on the inside. Prices are not out of line for a good night out especially for handmade Italian food.
