My husband and I are big foodies and this place is sister to chimolis Mexican steakhouse. Wow!!!! Trust me when I tell you this was just mouth watering. The flavors of every dish just melted in our mouth. We order the queso fundido with chicharron en salsa verde, panchos de asada, and the ribs. Every dish was out of this world good!!! If you haven’t tried and don’t mind splurging a little, I recommend you give it a try.

I celebrated my birthday here and had such a great experience! Our waitress, Jacky, was amazing—so friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome the whole time. I don’t normally write reviews unless my experience is super bad or super great, and let me say this place blew me away. Our server Virginia was super accommodating & so nice! She was so knowledgeable about the menu, gave us great recommendations & made sure our drinks were never empty. From the service to the drinks to the ambience and of course the star of the show, the food! I went with a group of friends and we got a little bit of everything and not one dish disappointed. My top dishes were the cazuela asado de puerco & queso fundido with chicharon! Their drinks were so amazing! Their paloma is probably the best one I’ve ever had. They make their palomas with fresh grapefruit juice & makes all the difference. We had the pistachio pie for dessert & it really was the cherry on top of everything! I love their sister restaurant Chimolli but will definitely be coming here more often; I love the more casual feel to this place. Would 100/10 recommend!

We ordered the parrillada which is $75 and it was totally NOT worth it not only that but our food took over an hr to get. Most costillas were all fat as you can see. When we asked our waitress why our order was taking so long she rolled her eyes and answered with attitude. Definitely will never go again or recommend this place to anyone, save your money for a better restaurant.

The food was great and the service was as well. The only reason I do not give this a 5 star rating is because they don’t bring your food at the same time for your party. They serve your food at whatever time it’s ready. Meaning some will get their food first while others wait. However, the server did make us aware of this when we arrived. This makes sense with the name of the restaurant. Will definitely be coming back

My wife & I really enjoyed the tacos de trompo al pastor! We added some grilled onions also. They were absolutely delicious. What made it the bomb was the savory medium hot salsa that they recommend with the tacos.
They also served us a bowl of peanuts & a serving of fried pork which was delicious with the three bottles of homemade salsas at the table accompanied by some fresh wedges of limes.
We also dug into a huge potato ( la papona) filled with several meats: trumpo, fajita, bacon, sour cream & cheese. It was delicious all the way around. Definitely a must try in Brownsville. The menu has a variety of food which is always a plus for me. The place is really nice inside and it carries a nice vibe. Hats off to the staff explaining the menu. Our server Jackie and chef Mary did a fantastic job.

I had the best time at Centrito Botanero! It’s such a fun and lively spot – the perfect place to enjoy dinner and stay for cocktails, caguamas, and some great music. Everything we tried was absolutely delicious, but I have to say, the broccoli was an explosion of flavor! Definitely a must-try. The costillas de res asada, la papona, sonoritas, and the gringa are also absolute musts. And don’t even get me started on the desserts – they’re always such an experience. This is definitely a spot to hit up with friends every weekend. Can’t wait to go back and try more from the menu!

Amazing food, outstanding service! Our waitress was Valery, answered all of our questions about the menu, was very attentive and professional. We took our out of town guests there and we were all so pleased. Everything we ate tasted so delicious, better than many restaurants we’ve tried in big cities. Kudos to the chef, she is very talented and skilled. Highly recommended!
