Super cute, cozy restaurant and bar. We stopped in on a Tuesday date night. (Thanks for being open a Tuesday night). Chelsea provided phenomenal service- made suggestions and told us about the ALL DAY happy hour specials ($5 appetizer and desserts beers and rails). We had the mi amiga (?) pizza with guacamole on it and lots of unique flavor. It was rich so you didn’t need a lot. We split an app, pizza, dessert and still had leftovers. With drinks, including an espresso martini, we were still under $50. I’m intrigued by the unique pizzas and look forward to going back!! Oh yeah – the decor is very cute. Whole place feels warm and inviting.

Our family loves Centos! Always a fun atmosphere, delicious food and a great place to spend quality time! My personal favorite is the Gluten free Pig and the Fig. The kids love the mango smoothies and the coffee is top notch!

Cento Wood-fire Pizzeria & Cafe in Albert Lea, Minnesota, offers a unique blend of delicious cuisine and historical charm. Located in a building that has stood the test of time, the restaurant is housed in a structure that dates back to the early 1900s. Originally built as a retail space, the building was part of Albert Lea’s thriving downtown area during its peak as a hub for commerce and community activity. Over the years, the building has been home to various businesses, contributing to the local history and character of the area.

The building’s architectural style reflects the period in which it was constructed, with vintage touches that have been preserved and integrated into the restaurant’s design. Many of the original features, such as the brick exterior and large windows, maintain the historical feel, offering patrons a glimpse into the past while enjoying modern amenities.

Cento Wood-fire Pizzeria & Cafe honors both the history of the space and its commitment to quality, serving up wood-fired pizzas, fresh ingredients, and crafted drinks in a welcoming, cozy atmosphere. The choice of wood-fire cooking pays homage to ancient cooking traditions, enhancing the dining experience with a rustic and authentic flavor. For residents and visitors alike, Cento is a perfect fusion of history and contemporary dining, where the past and present come together in the heart of Albert Lea.

Love this space! Good crust, great salad, but too much sauce.

On the road from Rochester to Omaha, I found this little gem looking to support local business as we passed through.

We arrived and were seated immediately. Great service and the pizza was toasty hot!

We got:
Cheese bread – excellent. No complaints.
Caesar half salad – delicious. No complaints.
Margherita pizza – baked to perfection, the only thing less than desirable was the excessive amount of sauce.

Overall, we will definitely go back if back in town. Just planning to try a different pie next time. ♥️

A true AL gem! Feels like something you’d find in a much bigger city. Atmosphere is always pleasant and clean. The artisan pizzas are the best I’ve ever had (my favorite is The Mission Statement). Thanks for a great place to gather!

Great Italian place in a beautiful historical building in Albert Lea. They have attention to detail, and really care about making a great place in this southern Minnesota town. Their decor seems to elevate and complement the existing architecture in a tasteful way, and the service is excellent.

They support local events and seem to be glad to be apart of the Albert Lea community.

They have a wood fire stove for authentic style pizzas, and have a delicious menu including tiramisu, gnocchi, pasta, and more.

They also have a coffee shop and big windows at the front for a nice daytime coffee or lunch which has a subtle contrast to the finer feel of their dinner area. Their dining and bar area felt like an upscale space that didn’t feel like causal clothes were unwelcome. Overall, very happy and I look forward to visiting again!

We had heard amazing things about the food and location. We were not disappointed. The wood fired pizza was super tasty with all of the specialty cheeses and flavors you would expect from a trip to Italy and the best part was how fast the service was with the pizzas coming in just a few minutes after ordering with the place packed. We would recommend it to everyone looking for a romantic outing or a classy meal.

The food here was really good! Wife and I would definitely come again. The pizza sauce was well seasoned and the crust tasted fresh. Really interesting and tasty options on their menu. The only downside was the dining room felt a little cramped with how many tables they had and the main walk way in the middle. Overall great place to go and highly recommend it

Cafe:
Had a caramel roll this morning. Was the softest one I’ve ever had. They come from the local B&B Cafe. My family also had a caramel frappe and mocha latte. They both really liked them.

Pizza restuarant:
Came back for the soft opening of the wood fired pizza. Had the burrata and tomato appetizer. It was delicious, but the cheese was still a little cold. The pizza was all delicious. I’m used to a little more char on the crust for wood fire pizza, but was still very good. We ordered the Triple Threat and The Pig and The Fig, recommended by the GM. Both were great and would order again. Wish they had a pizza with some mushrooms on it. Good selection of drinks. As time goes on, the servers should learn the menu better.
