Cento the Pasta Bar has such a great vibe — stylish, lively, and welcoming — the kind of spot that makes you instantly comfortable. Service was attentive and relatively good, with only a small hiccup on timing with the drinks, but nothing that took away from the evening.

Now, the food — truly the highlight. We ordered four dishes, and three of them were nothing short of outstanding. The beef tartare was easily one of the best we’ve ever had — served with grilled smoked bread and fennel seeds, the flavors came together beautifully, making the meat absolutely glorious. The carbonara was perfection itself, with the pasta cooked just right, balanced by a touch of red pepper flakes and a rich, velvety egg that brought the whole dish to life. The grilled branzino was another standout — perfectly grilled, stuffed with mint leaves that gave it a surprisingly refreshing lift, and paired with a pillow of thinly sliced cucumbers that added brightness and freshness to every bite. The crudo was fine, but compared to the other dishes, it didn’t shine as brightly.

We ended on a sweet note with the mango sherbet pavlova, which was light, refreshing, and a nice finish to the meal.

Overall, Cento delivered an excellent dining experience. Between the vibrant atmosphere, the mostly spot-on service, and the truly amazing food, this place is an easy recommendation. We’ll definitely be coming back for more!

Short version: don’t waste your time here, the food is disappointing (portions are skewed, everything is spicy) and the service is awful (rude waitress); the prices are not proportional to the amount of food that you’re getting

Excited about trying a new place, we ordered 3 appetizers, 3 pastas, and 1 dessert. 2 of the desserts on the menu were not available and there were no specials on that night. Rather than a friendly welcome from our waitress, it seemed like we were being rushed and our waitress was more interested in taking our menus away to serve the next table.

The appetizers were good and a pretty good portion size. However, the pastas were subpar. The squid ink pasta was extremely spicy, while the “spicy” pomodoro was not spicy at all. The pomodoro sauce was very creamy and thick. The bolognese was the most disappointing. The portion was half the size of the other pastas and creamy for some reason. The $16 panna cotta was small as well.

After asking our waitress about the size of the bolognese, their response was: “that’s the way that it is.” They were unapologetic and didn’t seem to care about our frustration.

If you are looking for a place to eat in LA, this should be in the list of places that you shouldn’t go.

“Cento” has that classic LA charm, great ambiance, lively crowd, and the kind of place that feels like an “occasion” spot.

Ordered the Beetroot Pasta and the Spicy Pomodoro after carefully trusting the internet’s favorites. The beetroot pasta had a unique flavor profile I hadn’t tried before, and the pomodoro was good with a nice hint of basil on top. Both were good, just not quite “portion-meets-price” good.

Heads up – there’s usually a dinner waitlist, and cancellations are $20 per person

Cento Pasta Bar is an acclaimed modern fusion Italian restaurant in Hollywood.

The space is ultra hip built around an open kitchen concept. Clean lines and lighting. The vibe is high here.

The service is superb. Attentive. Professional. And fun!

The food was mind blowing. Fresh ingredients. Plates bursting with flavor.

This is a top notch stop for anyone seeking creative Italian dishes with flair.

This place was good. The staff is friendly and attentive. The food was good. My friends and I shared some plates. The octopus was to die for, but at I think the Pastas were not out of this world. I ordered the carbonara and unfortunately, did not exceed expectations. Overall was good. Would come back.

Dessert was the date cake and the banana pudding tiramisu… I just died of happiness by then. Loveeeeed this place and I can’t forget – the hostess, Adrien, and our server were all so amazing and friendly and attentive. all around

I’ll be honest, the pasta isn’t anything to write home about. But the venue is gorgeous and makes a great date spot. The presentation and ambiance are definitely Instagram worthy if that’s your thing. (You’re in LA after-all right?)

Overall, a solid place just go more for the vibe than the food.

Been to countless restaurants, and this is the first time I’ve ever felt the need to leave a bad review. The food was great, but I can’t give more than one star because of the hosts. Rolling your eyes at customers asking a simple question is rude and unprofessional. And it wasn’t just one—it was the entire group of hosts behaving this way. The owner needs to seriously focus on staff training, because if you expect customers to tip based on service, then at least behave good.

Absolutely amazing! We got the Spicy Pomodoro which was a little spicy but not too bad at all. There was so much flavor in the dish and was really filling! We also got the Sweet Corn Agnolotti which also had so much flavor and was so unique as well. Service was also incredible, highly recommend!
