I would like to say something nice about the staff at Centerville 2 Diner here in Mt Joy. All too often we are quick to write the negative. This past Friday a good friend & I went there for their scrumptious desserts. They are delivered on Fridays. We were seated by our very nice waitress Yarhaira. We ordered coffees and told her we were there for the desserts. Unfortunately for us the Bakery had hired a new driver & they were running late. We were told we were welcome to wait & enjoy coffees, so we decided to wait. Yarhaira & the equally nice hostess actually went outside several times and waited on the truck for us. We waited approximately an hour and Yar checked on us & apologized for the truck being late.
Well the truck arrived and we got our cake. It was so well worth the wait. The staff at Centerville 2 were kind, patient and we got our delicious cake. Thank you Yahaira, the hostess and the staff.

I do not understand any rating on here that would be under four. The food is excellent, the wait staff is friendly and accommodating and Randa and Ahmed are two of the most caring people that I’ve ever met. Walking into this diner is almost like going home. They are so warm and welcoming.

This diner was an utter and ghastly experience. From start to finish, the food was subpar and the cleanliness was questionable. My French onion soup tasted suspiciously of chicken bouillon, and the cheese was frankly rancid. Despite the incredibly kind and attentive service from our waitress, Emily, two attempts at the soup yielded the same disappointing result. The replacement, delivered by the owner, was no better. The “whole milk” I ordered tasted appalling and visibly looked as it had a thick white/pasty texture in the middle of the milk. Never seen something like that before.

The main course of fries, eggs, and toast fared no better. The fries were bland, disintegrating, and utterly unappetizing – a first for me. Even the simple eggs and toast couldn’t save the meal, but the eggs and toast were the best things during the whole experience, which is sad. Then, to top it all off, my initial vanilla milkshake arrived in a glass caked with what appeared to be dried chocolate chip ice cream spots and a sticky substance covered the glass. While a replacement milkshake was provided in a clean glass by the waitress, it was only barely average.

While I commend Emily’s excellent service, the consistently poor quality of the food and the unsanitary condition of the glassware overshadowed any positive aspects. This was easily the worst diner experience of my life, and there are certainly better options available in the Mount Joy area.

I strongly advise avoiding this establishment.

Centerville Diner in Mount Joy is a lovely, very clean place for a friendly meal. Great service, huge menu, senior menu, breakfast and yummy desserts. Very good prices. I had the spinach pie with Greek salad. It was scrumptious. Plenty to take home for a second meal. My friend had the chick and gravy with potato stuffing, house salad and red beets. She was very pleased with everything and also had enough to take home. The restroom was spotless. This diner is perfect for small groups or individuals. Children will be welcome here. Handicapped accessible, plenty of parking. To top it off there’s a Baker attached to the diner for more take home delights. Highly recommend you give it a try.

This has become nearly a weekly stop, because it’s always such a pleasure to eat here. A calm and happy atmosphere, the food selection is fantastic and has always been super tasty! The restaurant is clean and the staff are wonderful. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

This restaurant just can’t seem to get takeout orders right. Last time we were missing 2 items completely, and this time 2 items were not what I ordered. I guess we’ll have to rethink our takeout choices.

Waitress could have been more pleasant but wasn’t an Issue. The Hot gravy over turkey was horrible. It competes with the super low quality, super processed turkey In a boiling bag that you get in the freezer section at the grocery store. The stuffing was soggy and tastes like It was 3 days old. And most Importantly, the hot gravy was no hotter than room temperature! Apple sauce was good. Beaf stew soup was good. No buns with the meals…? I will never go here again. I had to wait til that low grade food digested some before I went to McD*nald’s and ordered 2 double cheeseburgers just to get the taste of Centerville diner 2 out of my mouth. My mother had meatloaf, she too was totally disappointed in the super low quality of the food. I gave them 2 stars because they did provide good apple sauce and good beaf stew. One point for each.

My husband and I had stayed in Mt Joy for a couple of days prior to sailing out of Baltimore for a cruise. We really love the small town “mom and pop” style establishments vs. chain restaurants because they always have great food. We were recommended to give Centerville Diner 2 a try for dinner. I’m so glad we did!! It was quite busy when we arrived (we believe that’s always a good sign). We were promptly seated, and it didn’t take long for our server to take our drink order. It took us longer to look over the menu because there was so much to choose from! My husband settled on a burger and fries, and I selected the turkey over filling. I must admit, being from Ohio, I had never heard it called “filling” before – we always call it stuffing or dressing. Our meal came out fairly quick. It was hot and well portioned. But the flavor is only what I could describe as “OMG delicious!!!”. This was down-home comfort food at its finest! I’m so glad we tried this place. The best part, aside from the food, service, and atmosphere, was that we didn’t spend a fortune. I would highly recommend this restaurant. I keep telling my husband that we need to make this a yearly trip – if not for the drive to Baltimore, at least to devour another homecooked meal!

My liver and onions with bacon was really good. Nice sized side salad. Companions burger was over done for his liking as his preference is warm in the middle.
Manager discounted his meal over and above the waitress discount. Purchased desserts to go.

Mount Joy is lucky to have yet another fabulous diner! The breakfast food was perfect and the service was friendly. I’m so glad the spacious building is occupied and look forward to their success!

Don’t forget to walk across the building to Rise Bakery for a treat afterwards! Support local!
