service was slow. we waited a while to get our order in, and then waited so much longer to get our food. we ordered the carne pozole and carne original tostada. both were really salty, but otherwise good. the tostada itself was kind of oily too.
we were seated outside. i hope they heaters soon.
Excited to try their other dishes. I’m rooting for them.
We tried a tostada raspada, tacos dorados, pozole, a sope, and a couple tamales. Everything was fantastic, but absolutely do not skip the tostada! We got it with chicken, highly recommend. The sauce they pour on it is just so delicious. Honestly we’d order everything again, there were no misses.
And if they happen to have tamales, the chicken w green mole was so delicious, fluffy and expertly seasoned.
So crunchy and fresh. The little setup in the backyard was very cute. The prices were incredibly reasonable for how well we ate. Looking forward to coming back!
If you know cuisine from Guadalajara /Jalisco you will be so glad you found this place! The food is great. This is the first time ever that I ordered a torta ahogada in the States. Usually at other restaurants they have very soggy bread, but at Elviras they have the actual bread you are supposed to use – a sour baguette-Ish which is bolillo salado!
Their spicy salsa is great! Then the Tostadas are so good. Probably my favorite of them all. The tacos are great! My favorite being the papa (potato) tacos. The pozole was also good
The owners as very welcoming and attentive! The actual place is small but so worth the wait. Just make sure you arrive early because they tend to sell out.
If you are used to Americanized Mexican food this will be a change for you. This authentic food/flavors from Jalisco!
