We were met with discrimination. Initially, the front desk had a young man who was kind and greeted us, confirming our service dog who was vested in his service dog uniform, was in fact a service dog. We said yes. He then said to grab a seat anywhere! The restaurant was not busy, maybe 1/3 full. There were about 7 tables open for us to sit at. Moments later…. A tall older woman interfered as we were about to sit down and told us we couldn’t dine in with a dog. We explained how he was a service dog but that wasn’t good enough. She treated our dog on-duty like a ferocious beast. She then told us we couldn’t sit down and that we had to wait at least 10min. ……. For what??????
She made a super big deal of the service dog dining in, was discriminative and then condescending. She told me that the man who told us we could sit down wasn’t “in charge of the front desk”! If so, he shouldn’t be standing there and greeting guests.
Eventually we were allowed to sit down with our sleeping baby and our trained service animal. But the entire experience was uncomfortable and discriminative. We would have properly celebrated my husbands birthday and ordered more food and drink but we kept it to 1 round of drinks and an appetizer. The food was mediocre.
I wouldn’t recommend this place. And we will be notifying the city of the discrimination to a guest with special needs requiring a service animal at this establishment. They should rethink employing this woman.
