Cedar Taste is hands down the best restaurant in the entire food court! The portions are always so generous, and every single dish tastes incredible. What really sets them apart is the kindness of the owners, they are always smiling, warm, and genuinely happy to serve. It’s no wonder they’re always the busiest spot in the food court.
Their son, Ryan, often helps out as cashier, and he’s just as thoughtful and kind as the rest of the family. You truly feel welcomed here every single time.
Great food, amazing people, unbeatable atmosphere, Cedar Taste is tasty as hell and an absolute gem!

I did NOT expect Cedar Taste to be so outstanding! We were expecting generic food court fare, but Cedar Taste turned out to be the best Mediterranean food I have ever eaten! The humus and baba ganoush was especially good … exquisitely creamy, smooth, and tasty. I was raised on my Greek grandmother and aunt’s home cooked Greek food, but their hummus, baba ganoush, & dolmas was not nearly as good as Lebanese chef Sam’s from Cedar Taste.
Note: I rated the atmosphere only a 2 as it’s in a food court — not something that Cedar Taste has any control over.

I should’ve wrote this review earlier, because now I am biased and a regular customer. Regardless, this is my favorite lunch/early dinner spots for a warm meal downtown. The family that runs this spot are wonderful and incredibly friendly. Although the menu isn’t huge, I’m sure you can find something you’ll like. I usually get the chicken shawarma plate (pictured) and it is incredible each time. The house “Cedar” sauce goes perfectly with garlic sauce. They are consistently making more shawarma so you’ll get a hot & juicy helping with the fluffy rice. A nice side salad, hummus (or babaghanoush) & a pita round out a filling but healthy meal. The falafel is also good, I just don’t usually get it. The pita or salad options are amazing too, and great options for people with less of an appetite than me
This dessert was very good too, I think it’s called Namoura

Best Mediterranean food in Rochester. Great quality and value for money. The portions are generous. I highly recommend the chicken shawerma, falafel wrap, and baba ganoush. The staff/owners are very friendly and always fun to talk with. I go there at least once a week!
I have lived in the middle east for most of my life and their food is the closest I can call to home!

Lived in the Middle East for almost a year, and haven’t had falafel anywhere near as good as there until I went here. The chicken shawarma was also excellent. Lovely couple who own the place too. If you’re in Rochester, don’t miss this place.

Run, do not walk! I saw the menu and it had all my favorites so I made my way over from Mayo. I arrived 10 minutes before they opened, the food court was empty, and I found the owner already serving her first customer with a smile and friendly demeanor. When it was my turn, I couldn’t decide, but ended up getting a falafel wrap because a) I love falafel and b) she told me it’s what she usually has for lunch. I almost passed up on their house made semi-spicy pickles but was advised (along with a sample) to include them and so glad I did- delicious! I don’t know how, but this goddess then crammed all of the goodness into the wrap: hummus, baba ganoush, falafel, cucumber, tomato, lettuce, pickles, tzatziki… and rolled it into a manageable size, griddled it *just so* and packaged it up for me to take with. I was feeling a little sad I didn’t try the chicken shawarma the first person had gotten, so she even gave me a lil sample of that to try to satisfy the FOMO. She was so friendly and kind- I hope they stay in business for a very long time, so I can keep going back to try more off the menu. Did I mention this all happened before they were even technically open for business?! What wonderful business owners. You know it’s good when the service and the food are both worth raving about.

I found this gem of a place at skyway during my lunch break today. I ordered a chicken shawarma wrap and believe me when I say this, this is the best shawarma I have had in 10
years in Rochester Soooo flavorful. The portion is huge for $8 so very reasonably priced. The staff preparing the food and the host both are so cheerful and engaging. I am glad to have found this delicious place. If you are craving authentic and delicious halal food, you have to try the cedar taste out!!!! I can’t wait to go back and try other menu items.
