We always enjoy our visit. The hostess had our seats ready with tableware and drinks very quickly. Food came out fast and hot as always. I will recommend this place over the larger restaurants any day. I LOVE the fried green tomatoes

I must say that I was very disappointed in Cedar River Seafood / Starke Fl tonight.
We vacation in South Florida every year and it has become a tradition to stay in Starke Fl for a restful night before starting out hectic vacation activities. Part of that tradition has been to have dinner at Cedar River seafood every time we come through the area.
This is the first year my wife and I were disappointed. We got a combination consisting of Fried Clam Strips and Catfish with a side baked potato. In the past the clam strips were the best we had ever eaten. This year they were tiny little nuggets about the size and hardness of BB’s. The catfish was ok but came as a very tiny serving. The baked potato, which came out of the kitchen when we were almost done with our meal, was so hard it could have substituted as a baseball for a baseball game.
Even the server was disappointed in what had been served to us.
Usually I would give the restaurant a great review but not this time.
We hope this was just a bad night and we will try them 1 more time on our next trip to Florida. If the same results happen again, we will find a better place to eat on future visits. McDonalds would have surpassed the results tonight.

I had a fantastic experience at Cedar River in Starke! Since my friend Nafi and I eat only halal food, we are often cautious when dining out, but our server Dalton went above and beyond to accommodate us.
He personally ensured that our salmon, shrimp, and other dishes were fried separately from the common food to prevent any cross-contamination. His attention to detail and commitment to our dietary needs made us feel incredibly comfortable and welcome.
The food was delicious, and the entire staff was friendly and professional. If you’re looking for great service and a team that truly cares about their customers, I strongly recommend this place. Thank you, Dalton!

Stopped in and had dinner at this familiar eatery and really enjoyed it. Love the atmosphere.. very colorful with the plaques, photos and paintings. Food was very good. Nice portions and very flavorful. Thought at first pricey but considering the amount of fish you receive well worth it! Service was mostly good.. very talkative and helped us decide what to order when asked. Only complaint and why it’s 4 stars and not five was it was very dusty and the bathrooms were not too clean amd need a renovation. But can recommend and plan to return!

Went here excited to be in Florida where I can get Gator tail nuggest all over. The waitress was quick to great up with a smile and charm that was welcoming and genuine. She showed us to our table and promptly got our drink order and apatizers. We were there with old friends and were encouraged to take our time and she got our orders and the food was more then I could eat and so tasty there boomboom sauce was delicious on everything I dipped in it. When on vacation in the Lake City area 10 out of 10 would recommend again prices were on par for any place else I have ever been for seafood. The atmosphere was nice and clean and tidy same with the bathroom.

Very quaint and small. Came around 2pm on a Sunday when the church rush was just finishing up. Restaurant was clean and all servers were very attentive and welcoming – from getting seated, to leaving.
Ordered the clam chowder and calamari basket. Food was excellent. Dalton was my server. He was also very polite and attentive. He also offered a to-go drink as I was finishing up.
Will definitely be returning and highly recommend to anyone who likes seafood. I’ll update with a picture on my next visit.

If you are anywhere near Starke with an appetite you MUST stop in and enjoy this gem of a restaurant. The BEST service I’ve had at any restaurant in at least a decade and oh my goodness the food. We had stuffed flounder, frog legs, grouper fingers and boiled shrimp. Cindy is the best server in the business. 10 out of 10!!!

I used to stop by here over 20 years ago on my way to Tampa from Southeast Georgia and when I was passing through the other day I just had to stop because I loved it back then and it was just as good this time too. I ordered shrimp scampi. Way more than I could eat. There was at least 14 maybe 16 jumbo shrimp, 2 sides & awesome hush puppies & sweet tea
