Great food. The hostess was very stressed and rude. We were ignored for almost 20 min. The waiter was very nice and helpful. Hopefully next time it’ll be a 5 star rating.

This is a hit and miss kind of place. I would say “hit or miss” except it’s likely that you’ll have a combination of pleasantly surprised satisfaction as well as mild disappointment. I had the frog legs, which I though were really good. I also ordered the stuffed mushroom appetizers, which were also pretty darn tasty. But the collared greens were not that great until I dug deeper into the pile. The inner greens were tasty while the outer ones were dry and so-so at best. My coworker didn’t have as good of luck. He ate most of the food because he was hungry, but he said he didn’t like it. He ordered a combination of different seafoods off the senior menu. I would probably go back to try the gator if I was still in town. But honestly, I’d rather find a place that wasn’t so hit or miss on whether what you order will be good or not.

My sweet friend Amy suggested this place. We want to support local Hometown restaurants in our area with the new way of dining! Take Out!
The food was fantastic and on point. I highly suggest this place if you live in the area or passing through.

Big Mate’s platter. The flavor was good. I think they take advantage of being the only seafood place in the area price wise. The fish was super tiny and hard. Scallops were excellent. 3 oz. Of each is not very much. I would rather drive out of my way to Sam’s seafood in macclenney/ Normandy or Blanding. Or St Mary’s on San Jose.

I just visited this location 9-7-21 , service was awesome, food was mediocre, inside looked remodeled.both bathrooms out of order 1 stall handicap was in use, My biggest issue is portion verse pricing. I once was a regular customer when they first opened them quality in my own opinion went down and I’ve visited other places I believe is better. Would I visit again sure I give them opportunity’s. And seafood in middleburg is not big selection. In my opinion shrimp shack is better. But cedar river is better than captain Ds except the tarter sauce and price. I spent 55$ For 2 dinners and 1 appetizer plus tip and 2 ice waters. Had trio

Enjoyed the fried catfish today. Food tasted great and service was excellent. I haven’t been here in years, but I believe the chain of Cedar River Seafood Restaurants are my top choice for seafood dining.

Place never disappoints! Good food, good service. Cannot recommend it enough. I had the boiled shrimp, with just old bay, cheese grits and the best green beans I’ve ever had.

Great food. The atmosphere was very cozy with a country feel. I order to go and the hostess was very friendly and speedy in taking my order. I asked her a question about one of their soups and she was able to find out when it would be available. I will return when wanting seafood. Affordable.

Great staff and quick service. Everything was as ordered and brought out quickly. They even dealt with one person having a seafood allergy successfully. The baked beans alone are worth coming here. The fried shrimp was lightly breaded and the blackened shrimp was well prepared with traditional spices. Only problem was the Pepsi products but otherwise it was worth coming and returning in the future.
