This place was recommended to me by one of the guests at my own bar and happens to be very close to my house; however I am beyond disappointed. I feel bad writing my first negative review but this is the worst old fashioned I’ve ever been served. If you’re gonna advertise your drinks as non-refundable I would expect more care to go into their construction. Instead I was met with a shaken old fashioned which I paid for per their menu despite it being terrible . I’ll give this place another chance sometime for the food, which I assume was good given that the bar was busy, but I almost assuredly won’t drink anything beyond beer or wine as I do not intend to be charged for another disappointing cocktail. To end on a brighter note the staff was very friendly and I was very happy to tip them for their hard work despite my own bad experience.

Very good dinner for 4. Reservations are a definite. Very close to where we stay and have never tried. The atmosphere and service was excellent, just wish the wine glass had a little bit more. This is a excellent place for a date.

We have been intrigued to try this new restaurant and stopped in on a Saturday evening. By luck there was a table open just as we walked in and we were seated immediately. Evan was our waiter and he was excellent, he knew the drinks well and the local things they were named after. He was also familiar with all of the dishes and easily answered our questions. We started with cocktails from a nice selection and shared the conch, clam and character fritters, they came with a delicious dipping sauce. We chose the Cedar paella for two as our entree and it was amazing! The presentation was excellent and cooked to perfection. This is a small space but it is quite loud at times and would benefit from some sound baffles to help absorb the noise. Great job so far and I can only imagine they will keep learning and improving.

We were disappointed by our meal here because the reviews were, on the whole, very good. We arrived on time and were seated right away. I ordered a drink which was not very tasty but was heavy on the alcohol. We ordered an appetizer and two entrees. Unfortunately, they seemed to be out of several things (it was Sunday evening).After about an hour of waiting for any food (and the restaurant was not particularly crowded), they brought our entrees. Apparently, they forgot about our appetizer. They were very apologetic. When we tasted the food, it was a solid B. It was also very confusing that the paella had a BBQ chicken breast on it to the point where I thought maybe it was an apology for forgetting the appetizer, but from others’ photos it seems like that’s how they do it. The crabcakes were fine but nothing to write home about.
On the whole, it was an expensive meal for not great food. Looking over others’ reviews, it does seem like many have eaten well there so maybe this was an off night. We did enjoy the ambience and kind servers.

Overall excellent quality food. The onion soup is the best I’ve ever had. I order onion soup in a restaurant any time there is the opportunity. I’ve had the salmon and cashew encrusted entrees. Both were top quality. The crab cakes are superb. Full of meat with no fillers with a flavoring that make them amazingly delicious. It’s a small setting. Dining room seats about 40 with an outdoor seating area of several more tables. Excellent service staff.

We ate at Cedar tonight which had been one of our favorite restaurants until now. Unfortunately it was due to the hostess – not the food or waitress – and we do not intend to go back. We arrived at 5:05 pm the restaurant a little early for a 5:15 pm reservation with my elderly parents. There was one table seated and others sitting at the bar which was full. The hostess told us that we would have to wait to be seated for about 10 minutes because she had 5:00 reservations she would need to seat when they arrived. I am not sure why she was unable to seat us at that time and what difference it made – the people who had the 5:00 pm reservation were not even there yet. 2 more groups came in – both with 5:15 pm reservations – and she told them the same thing. We all stood crowding the front entrance area while we all waited for her 5:00 pm reservations to arrive. We were finally seated at 5:15 pm and the other 2 groups were seated right after. Now there were 4 tables seated and the people with the 5:00 reservation were still not there. She was not friendly, quite rude, and continued to tell people coming in the same thing – again making no sense.
Last year I had made a reservation for 4 people and one of the people in the party could not go because they had become ill. When we arrived, she asked where our 4th was and I told her he had become ill and could not attend. She then told us that we should have changed the reservation and that they would need to charge us for the no show! I again explained he was sick and could not come at the last minute and that should have zero effect on the seating since a table for 3 is the same as one that seats 4 and we were not a “no show”. She “let it slide” but still berated us for changing the number without calling.
I gave it 2 stars because our waitress Mary was awesome, and the food was good. However, the hostess ruined the night and I doubt we will be back which is unfortunate. The gentleman who owns the restaurant is great and it truly could have been a go to for us.

Food is good. Reasonable prices for seafood too Cozy bar with small area for tables. Does have outside seating too. Very friendly and accommodating staff and owners greet you at the door, nice touch.

Consistently the best food around! I LOVE the ahi tuna entree! My husband, a meat eater, LOVES the halibut. I could eat there every day! The signature martini with the cucumber infused vodka is the best! Try it for yourselves!!!
