Usually we don’t have time to sit down and eat a meal to start our day when we are on our fishing trips but this weekend we took it easy and decided to try some local spots. We’re glad we tried this place! Awesome breakfast food and our server was very nice. I had the “Denver Surprise” and it was scrumptious! It kept me full until dinner time. Others in my group had the chicken fried steak special, biscuit and gravy (along with many sides), and a skillet. Would definitely go back again next time!

We stop in when we are in ND. They have fixed us Walleye filet for us at breakfast. They have great service and good food. Was clean and convenient. Looked forward to stopping here on the trip. It’s a sit down and order restaurant and plenty of parking. They also have ice cream cones. We had breakfast. Scrambled eggs and walleye.

This place is exactly what a North Dakota family restaurant should be… huge portions of homemade food… dinners served with soup and salad and bread. Coffee carafe and water jug on the table. They’ve done it right here! We just came back from a vacation out of state and this was the perfect welcome home. We will definitely come back when we’re through Devil’s Lake.

Although I was unable to dine in due to time constraints, the experience exceeded my expectations. I ordered the steak and eggs, as well as the biscuits and gravy, both of which were bursting with flavor and offered generous portion sizes at a comfortable price point.
The customer service was exemplary. The representative I spoke with over the phone to place my order, as well as the one who assisted me during pickup—likely the same person—was exceptionally friendly and ensured that I had all the necessary utensils and condiments for my meal on the road.

Stopped on Friday for the fish fry and the place wasn’t really busy, but the servers obviously had a long day because they looked worn out. 5 of us had fish and one had a menu item. The fish was very good, but they were out of a lot of the sides. The fish pieces were quite large and I could only eat 3, so that is a great bonus. We left a great tip because the staff worked hard.

First off I only gave 4 stars due to them changing their ranch, It usually tastes like homemade buttermilk ranch but this time it tasted like regular hidden valley ranch. Now on to the review!
This is our go to place for our family of 4 in Devils Lake ND, they have some really good soul food, as well as a children’s menu for our two boys. Staff is always super friendly and happy to serve you. The restaurant is a big hit for locals so if you’re from out of town and want to visit a locally owned restaurant instead of a big chain this would be an amazing choice! There is a big parking lot and also plenty of room on the side lot for semis or any other big vehicles. The atmosphere is clean and cozy and definitely feels like a mom and pop type restaurant. The food is always great and consistent and you get great portion sizes for the low prices they charge. Their specials are always good and on Fridays they have All you can eat Walleye! They also have quite a few choices of ice cream. Overall I definitely recommend this restaurant because it’s a very cozy place to eat and service is fast as well as having very friendly staff and they are always more than accommodating with our two boys. My wife wanted to add this note, they have the best chicken strips in town! Thank you to the Cedar Inn for serving us and we look forward to many more years of eating there!
