Raman was an amazing server and was very attentive,
We didn’t wait long for food and everything was fresh and delicious.

The portions are HUGE I couldn’t eat more then half of my chicken korma

My husband had the butter chicken and our little had the chicken fingers and fries.

We also ordered the garlic naan bread which was so tasty and full of flavour.

The restaurant is clean and quiet!

This meal was SO FABULOUS! Best naan bread I’ve ever had- plates are warm- spiced well!

I love Indian food and would eat it at any opportunity anyways but this was SUPER YUM!

I tell you this is worth the drive…’all the way’ from Nanaimo! The food was so good: I had to put up a review. (No alcohol) but lots of drinks to choose from including near beers.

I’m so happy I found Cedar & Flame — it’s honestly one of the best places for vegan Indian food in the area. I ordered the vegan Aloo Gobi, Dal Tadka, Chickpea Curry, rice, and roti, and every single dish was full of flavour and cooked perfectly. The spices were balanced, the vegetables were fresh, and nothing felt oily or heavy.

As a vegan, it means a lot when a restaurant takes the time to prepare dishes thoughtfully instead of just removing ingredients. Cedar & Flame really delivers — everything tasted homemade and comforting, like real Indian home cooking.

The staff were warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere felt cozy and inviting. Portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality.

If you’re vegan or just love delicious, wholesome Indian food, I highly recommend Cedar & Flame. This place is a new favourite for me.

Thank you, Ashish and the whole team, for creating such a lively and memorable experience. My family was truly happy — your energy, your kindness, and your food felt like something made in heaven. I absolutely loved your service. If I could give you an Oscar for the best dinner on Vancouver Island, I would. God bless you all.

Cedar & Flame is such a gem in Cedar! I tried their Paneer Lababdar and it was absolutely outstanding — rich, creamy, perfectly spiced, and full of authentic flavour. You can tell the dish is made with care and fresh ingredients.

The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff are genuinely kind and attentive. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and everything tastes homemade in the best way.

If you love Indian food or want to try something new, Cedar & Flame is a must‑visit. The Paneer Lababdar is now my go‑to — highly recommended!

We were a table of 4 (2 couples) tonight and although the food was good, at the end we asked for each couples bill (2 bills total) but the girl had already combined all 4 of us on one bill and refused to separate it because she was new and didn’t know how.. it really took us all by surprise as we had to put the whole total on one persons debit card which caused us a lot of inconvenience and was kind of awkward! We asked her 2 times to separate and she said no each time! Is that even legal? We even asked if she could please get someone who could separate it and she just said “I’m the only one here” even though there was definitely chiefs in the back.. but also, she could have called for help? And Couldn’t she just have restarted the process on her till? The waitress also made a mistake because she didn’t write our order down, and gave us the wrong naan bread to which we tried to give it back but she said “it’s okay I will bring the right one out” but still charged us for the one we didn’t want. Also charged us for pop refills ($4.00 each!) it would have been nice to know that refills were extra. I don’t know.. the whole experience in the end just threw everything off and unfortunately we won’t be going back.

We went in for the first time with our kids. Had 3 adults and 2 little ones. Ordered 2 orders of Naan, butter chicken, lamb korma and a spinach and cottage cheese dish (forgot the name) all was excellent, lots of left overs, that we will have for dinner as well tonight. Service was great too. We will definitely be back. Pics would have been better, but forgot to take until we had dipped into some of it

The chicken Tikka from here is the best I’ve ever had. I don’t order from anywhere else now because nothing comes close to being this good. I often order a small side of butter sauce and this too is better than anywhere else. My partner is vegetarian and has tried several dishes and enjoyed them all thoroughly. Absolutely fantastic restaurant and the owner and staff are super friendly.

The food was not at all to the mark …total dissatisfaction.
The butter chicken bone in and the chicken. Chillie and the goat Biryani was just not what was expected taste wise …jst tasting raw flavour.
The goat from the biryani was partially cooked.
Surely no second visit!!!!
