Cedar is a wonderful spot in Covington for brunch. The scratch kitchen combined with the attention to detail food wise was notable! Make a reservation in advance if grabbing brunch – otherwise anticipate a wait.

I’d highly recommend the Brussel Hash, Hangover Bowl, & Chicken & Waffle. All the beverages were great from the Bloody Mary to the Cedar Mimosa.

The food was quality, but rather small portions. The service received felt rushed – forgetting to bring a biscuit for 10+ minutes after delivery our main course. The beignets were good, not great. The yuca toast was good, but a very small portion that should be an app not a meal.

We will return as we want to explore more of the menu. However, the 1 hour vacation they boost about on their website wasn’t my experience.

After attending a nearby activity, my wife, daughter, and I found our way to Cedar for dinner. Traditionally a brunch spot, their hours have recently been expanded to offer dinner three nights a week (Thursday – Saturday).

We started with the spicy candied sprouts, a wonderful combination of roasted Brussel Sprouts, hot honey, spicy candied bacon, and served with house-made ranch ($11). These were definitely spicy, but were very tasty and a wonderful dish to share as an appetizer.

The ladies shared the chicken & waffles, a large plate of fried chicken, served on a house waffle, with hot honey, spicy candied bacon, butter, and powdered sugar ($19). This featured some of the same ingredients as the sprouts, but was a much sweeter dish thanks to the sugar and waffles. They were very happy with the choice, and this is available on both the brunch and dinner menus.

I ordered the Greek chicken wrap with shredded chicken, hummus, pickled red onions, cucumber, feta, and cilantro vinaigrette, all wrapped in naan bread and served with house-cut fries ($16). This was really good, and I especially liked the tangy cilantro vinaigrette sauce. The fries were also very good. This dish is also available on both the brunch and dinner menus.

.While visiting the Covington/Cincinnati area, my partner and I decided to grab breakfast one morning and stopped at Cedar, mainly because of its convenient location. We were immediately impressed by the warm, cozy atmosphere, with a clean, rustic, country-kitchen vibe that felt inviting and homey.

We chose to sit at the bar, though the restaurant also offers low-top tables, booths, and standard dining seating. The bar service was quick and friendly, and our server was knowledgeable about the menu. The menu itself is fairly small but thoughtfully curated, offering solid breakfast options.

My partner ordered the skillet bowl, and I went with the chicken and waffles. Both dishes were fantastic. The chicken was perfectly crispy and juicy, and the waffle was fluffy and full of flavor, complemented by a hot honey maple syrup that was outstanding. I also ordered a Bloody Mary, which was easily one of the best I’ve had in a long time—well-balanced, flavorful, and expertly prepared.

Overall, Cedar offers a vibrant, clean, and welcoming dining experience. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere evokes the warmth of a country kitchen—perfect for a satisfying breakfast and a great start to the day in the Covington/Cincinnati area.

Had dinner here and loved the food! Scratch kitchen is evident in everything we had. The brussel sprouts were to die for. We tried the chicken and waffles, Fire Bird chicken, Greek chicken wrap, and beignets. Would definitely recommend.

The restaurant was beautiful and the cleanest bathrooms I’ve ever seen.

Service was phenomenal. I sadly forgot her name, but I can’t wait to come back and see her again.

Highly recommend.

I ordered the crab eggs benedict for the $18 price tag give me some hash browns on the side or some fruit or…something…portion size very tiny for the cost…our waitress Brandy? was VERY attentive, polite and apologetic when service was slow–I recc to the owners to put the silverware on the table so the waitress doesn’t have an extra trip–we didnt even have spoons to stir our coffee had to ask her prob took 7-8 mins before she was able to bring our silverware–then saw her have to bring silverware to the table next to us on an extra trip after they asked–not very efficient for a busy restaurant during prime brunch hours–the hostess Hailey was performing her duties in a very passive-aggressive manner–she was clearing a table of 8 and slamming together all the bill clipboards, she would clink together all the glasses, she was putting a high chair back and SLAM!! every time she touched something if was very SLAM and CLINK! and CLINK….CLINK..CLINK SLAM SLAM..it got to be so obvious when she was in the room…definitely takes away from the dining experience–coffee was very strong but is better than the water downed coffee we had on the boat cruise dinner we had later that night (Husband enjoyed his biscuit breakfast)

Went on a Saturday morning. Walked in, seated quickly, but it was busy. Very friendly staff, great food. Restaurant/restrooms were very clean, nice decor. Outdoor seating is available. All the food was tasty. Burgers are delicious, and the brussel sprout dish was enjoyed by my wife (but be careful, its spicy). 10/10 recommend.

Cedar was terrific for dinner. Had the poutine, brussel sprouts (not pictured), and beignets. All of it was seasoned perfectly and tasted terrific. Thanks to Heidi for being a great waitress attentive to our needs and a detailed provider of suggestions.

The food here is incredible and at a reasonable price! The Nola was my favorite dish. It had generous amounts of crab and shrimp in a rich sauce. The orange dream French toast was also delicious. Definitely coming back for a group brunch! Service was speedy and friendly

Excellent breakfast and brunch menu with delicious drink options! We tried a few items for brunch and each was very good and well seasoned! The space itself is a good atmosphere and the team working did a great job with communication and speed to service! The Hangover was highly recommended and lived up to the hype!

Special shoutout to Alex D for serving our table and welcoming us on our first time visiting!

Cool vibe with great outdoor seats. Easy street parking. Chicken was great. Spicy candied sprouts were amazing. But the burger had a soggy bottom and was bland.
