Quiches & crepes are the dishes of choice at this French cafe with outdoor seating.

A sign says seat yourself, so we did, and had to wave down the hostess 15 minutes later to ask for menus. We ordered a crepe and water, took 30 minutes to arrive, place was not busy. Waitress told us, “Well you know we only have 1 crepe maker running.” My water glass was disgustingly dirty. Oily thumbprints on the edge of our plate.
The crepe was pretty, and tasted good, but it’s hard to mess up nutella and strawberries….
Loved the outdoor atmosphere, wish we had a better experience because it would’ve been our new date place.

I really adore the location of this cafe. It has amazing outdoor seating that is absolutely perfect on a 72 degree Monday afternoon. The quiche was good and the house salad dressing was surprisingly delicious. I’m not a big salad fan but I scarfed it down because of the dressing alone. I went when the place was dead so I got instant service and didn’t wait more than five minutes for my quiche. Highly recommend!

Outdoor space where dogs are welcome. Brought ice water for him. Food was excellent!

All the signs of a bad experience were right in front of me: the rancid smell, the flies in the restaurant, the 45 minute wait for escargot when we were the only customers….the only customers part should have tipped me of– all of it should have tipped me of. I had promised my son escargot so I decided to stay…my wife took one bite of the escargot stood up and said “I’m going inside to pay the bill, this is bad stop eating.” When she walked out she asked if I had noticed how bad it smelled inside (she had not been inside since we sat outside). Anyway, long story short and $30 later we walked out completely disappointed. Looking back we shouldn’t have paid….it was that bad. I’ve never written a review–good or bad– but this time I just had to. The waitress was nice that was the only positive.

Went here during the winter, and had an amazing meal with some local friends. It was very cold out, so I ordered the French Onion Soup and some sort of sandwich. I dunno what was on the sandwich, and couldn’t identify all of the ingredients, but it was something fancy and tasted amazing. The two items went very well together, and helped keep me warm while sitting outside with my friends. It’s not cheap, but for what you get, the customer still gets the better end of the deal here. Will definitely jump at the next chance to eat here.
The restaurant doesn’t seem to serve alcohol, but will let you bring drinks from the Maggie’s Attic wine bar out back if they aren’t busy, and sit at their outside tables. The outside area is very pleasant, as it’s shaded by a couple big trees that keep the heat in during winter, and keep the sun off during summer.

Absolutely horrible experience. I don’t even know where to begin. Between the terrible service and the fake French food it was easily the worst dining experience of my life. When I arrived I asked for a croissant. My server told me that they were baking the next batch and it would be about 45 minutes. About 10 minutes later I saw an employee come in with 3 bags from publix full of croissants! The grilled chicken sandwich I ordered was two pieces of cold cuts on French bread. My husband ordered the cheese platter which he sent back because the fruit tasted like it had been the refrigerator for months. When I complained to the manager he offered excuses but at least offered to comp our meal. To make matters worse, our idiot server then proceeded to bring us the bill and when I told him that the manager was going to be taking care of the bill (which he had said right in front of the server) for us he asked me “all of it?”. Save your time and money and go eat at one of the many other amazing restaurants in Mount Dora. This place it the pits!

The food was decent and I enjoyed the crepes but our overall experience was sub par. There are better spots around. Service was unfortunately off during my visit – slow (missing person I believe) and card machine was down which I only found out when I went to pay. Probably the fault of management as I could see the server trying her best.

I have removed this restaurant from my personal approved list. It will be a while before I go back. Had lunch there today. The sandwich, salad and soup was good, not great. The service was very poor and the help was extremely unkempt. Long hair, beards, backward baseball caps and tattoos. Overall not a pleasant lunch. Since the son took over operation of the restaurant the overall quality and cleanliness of the place has gone downhill.

Sitting outside on a beautiful afternoon, the atmosphere was very pleasant. I ordered salmon and cream cheese on a baguette, and they were out of salmon. No problem, I ordered crepes, their specialty. Out of that too….the wine and the atmosphere made for a nice time, hence the generous 4 stars rating.

This resturant had the worst service I’ve seen, they were out of crossiants, didn’t put lettuce on half of my sandwich, and when we asked for milk chocolate fondue she told us they were out of marshmallows and angel cake. Then she brought out dark chocolate instead and we didn’t like it. It took 40 minutes for our soup, and we ended being stuck there for 2 and half hours. Lastly, our server was rude and rolled her eyes when we said we didn’t like the fondue, and took my cup of water and kept it for 15 minutes. although, my sandwich was good, and the fondue would of been good if we had more dipping varieties. The experience was terrible.
