Nice vibe in this place, although it can get really noisy if there is a party going on.
Our server, Nate, had a nice chill vibe and took good care of us.
The Ginger mocktail was very good.
Brussels sprouts were tasty if a bit overdone. The CBR smash burger was yummy.

My family & I enjoyed our dining experience. Staff was kind and efficient. Hubby had the chicken & waffles but said the chicken needed seasoning. Children had the Nutella waffles and the blueberry pancakes. However, when the pancakes were sliced it was actually blackberries inside. I had the frittata and side of chicken sausage. Both were delicious as well as the potatoes.

One of the best Caesar’s I’ve ever had. Seriously. I added the flank steak. Cooked perfectly medium rare. Homemade dressing. Croutons were out of a box but still fine. Steak and salad were the stars and I would absolutely order that again.

Was here one time before and got the steak frites with upgraded truffle fries. Also cooked well and had great flavor / seasoning.

Both times the ambiance was chill (mid week visits) but has been a cool vibe. I travel to Chicago regularly and this will become a go-to spot.

The atmosphere is amazing. The decor is nice but what I will say is the staff is astounding. It’s rare to find a place that makes you feel welcomed and at home. The food was sooooooooo good. Chef Zambrano is the best!! She came out to meet us because I said I enjoyed the meal so much. Everyone that works here is so welcoming. Names to remember Angeles, Clay, Justin and Chef Zambrano!! I love the vibe they give off – friends you haven’t seen in a while. The tuna poke, truffle fries and balsamic glazed short ribs are amazing. The presentation for the food was beautiful. My new favorite restaurant!!

The restaurant is located in the Royal Sonesta in River North (not Downtown). It’s a small dining area and therefore has a smaller menu. However, they serve breakfast, brunch, happy hour, and dinner. We came here for breakfast, and we waited around 7-10 minutes to get served. My recommendation is to check their online menu so that when someone comes over, you can order right away.

We had hotel credit, so we splurged on the bagel and lox with avocados. It came with pickled onions and fruit. The fruit was really sweet and fresh, a huge standout to me even though it was just fruit. The lox was amazing, and the added avocado gave a nice creaminess despite the presence of cream cheese.

Overall, it was $50 for two portions. Would I come back for that price? No. Would I come back if I had hotel credit? Heck yes!

Came by for happy hour. Drinks are almost half off! Old fashion was on point with a walnut bitters. Ran $10 and a glass of Prosecco $7 or $8 I think. Also got the shishito peppers in a saffron aioli and wow!

Newly-opened spot in the old Sable space at the Royal Sonesta – we really enjoyed our lunch! The labneh and green chickpea hummus was outstanding – light and fresh, and the Power Bowl was also great!

The oatmeal is probably the best item here, the fruit is great. The scrambled eggs are a little dry. Service was ok. Beautiful restaurant.

It’s on the first floor of the Royal Sonesta

I love eating here for breakfast when I’m in Chicago, even when I’m not staying at the royal sonesta. The food and coffee are quite good! The service however is inexcusably dreadful. I keep wishing it will improve but after a dozen visits this year, it remains inattentive and slow. They will take your order, drop your food and drop your check. That’s it. You have to fight to catch the eye of a server for a coffee refill or condiments. It’s so frustrating! The kitchen is amazing and the restaurant is quite nice but it’s all sadly overshadowed by a service staff that is just going thru the basic motions at best and ignoring you at worst. Really should be addressed.

We visited CBR, the restaurant at the Royal Sonesta, and had an unforgettable experience! Although we arrived just after the breakfast menu had closed, our waiter, along with the manager and chef, truly went above and beyond to accommodate us. Edgar and Augie provided exceptional service, even taking the time to reheat the waffle maker just for us. The food was fantastic—we enjoyed the Nutella Waffles, Classic Breakfast, and a Burger. I highly recommend this place!
