The New Year’s Eve Prix Fixe dinner was spectacular, great taste pairings. Outdoor seating was spacious and cozy. Fun, cool vibe.

I love the outdoor/indoor space of this restaurant and so beautiful and quiet it’s hard to believe it’s right off the Sunset Strip. The food is delicious, however, there are some aspects of lunch that did not quite warrant 5 stars. The first mistake was the hostess not being prepared for a table of two reservation on a Tuesday with plenty of seating, and when we were seated she did not give us a menu. We had to ask. We started with the smoke and fire cocktails. Cocktails are a perfect test because they are all about the balance, and in this case, it was way off. The mezcal was way too much and automatically meant the smoke overpowered everything. The pineapple and mango were nonexistent although I tried to taste them. The fire from the jalapeño didn’t kick in until it had plenty of swirls, but got there. The food was more successful. The good was perfect medium rare steak, the King fish crudo, although I wanted more Persian cucumber crunch, and the Caesar salads thinly sliced crispy bread instead of clunky croutons. It needed more shredded Parmesan in the dressing, and more anchovy’s, but was still delicious and I enjoyed the long slices of parm. The other miss were the fries that were slightly overcooked. Perfect fries need to be golden and these were a bit overdone. I still ate them all. And while I looked forward to poached pears for dessert, it was not on the menu and the other options were not interesting enough for all the sugar. The final issue was the waiter who got the drink order wrong and handed us the check before we looked at the dessert menu, but he was otherwise attentive. A few tweaks and this could be a five star experience.

I was truly honored to be invited to celebrate my friend Jim’s 79th birthday at Cavatina. It was a beautiful Saturday to have brunch outdoor. We were a group of 15, seated at their private outdoor long table (adjacent to the open outdoor bar). It was a peaceful and elegant space surrounded by greenery that made the entire experience feel special from the moment we arrived.

We started with Seasonal Fruit & Berries and Assorted French Pastries (no photos, but they were absolutely delicious). For my main course, I had the Sunset Wagyu Burger, layered with smoky dressing, bacon, aged cheddar, and crisp lettuce. Delicious . Towards the end, we toasted to the birthday boy with glasses of champagne, and after we enjoyed a mezcal margarita. It was refreshing with just the right touch of smoke.

The staff at Cavatina went above and beyond to make Jim’s day feel memorable, and I truly appreciated the great and attentive service from our server Gustavo.

The food, drinks, atmosphere, and company made it a celebration I’ll always remember. My wife and I love going to Cavatina. It is a hidden gem in West Hollywood and perfect for birthdays, brunches, and special gatherings.

Hidden gem here at Sunset Marquis!
We stayed 3 days here at the property the restaurant was a stones throw away from our villa and it did not disappoint!
The breakfast each morning was top notch, and the service as well.
They really know how to take care of their hotel guests. No matter what request we threw at them. I cannot wait to return to the property, and this restaurant.

The best thing about this place is the atmosphere and the service. It’s beautiful and has a koi pond nearby and the service was excellent and the wait staff were extremely attentive.
Going to the food, the prime rib and chips were excellent !
However the cod and burrata were slightly below average, the cod was rubbery and the burrata was bland (despite the pesto pea spread).
The drink was slightly unbalanced for me , too much fennel / bitterness and lemon. But I understand that is subjective.
All in all, lovely experience especially if you’re staying at the sunset marquis.

Perfect brunch! We are back at the lovely Cavatina restaurant hidden inside the epic Sunset Marquis Hotel, just above West Hollywood. We stayed here a year ago before we even knew we’d be moving down this way. Cavatina is a calm oasis. It was great to see our favorite waiter, Gustavo, again and reconnect with him. The hotel was only blocks away from a spontaneous wildfire in January—thank God they were alright. This is one of the ultimate hidden gems of Los Angeles. Our mimosas and my huevos rancheros were outstanding.

The food is tasty, but could be elevated. For example the roasted root vegetable salad had very few root vegetables, it was mostly greens.
Atmosphere is superb, wonderful for intimate conversation with family and friends or a business meeting.
Service was on point

I remember when the food at this place was good, but sadly, those days seem to be over. We had dinner here recently, and it was one of the most disappointing meals I’ve ever had. I asked my friends about their meals, and they all shared the same negative feedback. While the service was fine, the food quality was shockingly bad—seriously, it was disgusting.

Later, over drinks, I shared my experience with other friends who had joined us, and they agreed the food was just as terrible. If the food is this bad, why hasn’t something been done to fix it? It’s baffling. Please, for the sake of your reputation, consider addressing this issue and making serious changes in the kitchen.

Attending Fess Parker’s wine tasting , I didn’t realize this experience belonged on my bucket list until after the fact. Either you’ll feel like a celebrity, find culinary spectacular sensations, or get a tasty buzz. Put a star on your calendar the day you get to do this – the experience will shine for weeks to come.

Cavatina is a hidden oasis in the Sunset Marquis luxury hotel. They offer a few vegan items. I ordered the Parsnip & Pear soup which is very artsy, but too sweet and not balanced (needs an acidic element). It’s also on the pricey side- $17
I’d like to go back to try the veggie cheese burger and plant-based gelato!
Excellent Service!!
Highly recommend the Bouvet Ladubay Brut, Loire, FR- reasonable price $15/glass
No Organic Wines offered.
