Reviews
I ordered a make-your-own bowl with lentils as the base and added a side of pita, fully aware there would be an extra charge. I was charged for the full side of pita, but was handed what looked like about 1/4 of a leftover piece. That is unacceptable, especially when customers are paying full price.
What was even more concerning was the quality of the food. The employee (wearing clear eyeglasses) stepped to the back of the store to add the lentils to my bowl and returned with it. When I began eating, I realized the lentils were completely undercooked — dry, hard, and essentially raw. They were inedible.
For clarification, the photo of the bowl may look like I had already eaten most of it — that was not the case. That was the actual portion I was served.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience warrants one. Being overcharged for an incomplete side, served undercooked food, and met with unfriendly service reflects serious issues with quality control and management at this location. I hope ownership takes this seriously and addresses these problems immediately.
Queen was very respectful on explaining what cost extra and what wasn’t, while the other customers started to raise their voice and started yelling at the team. During the entire time, she was very calm and explained to the man their policies while the man was constantly asking for free food.
It was uncalled for, for the customer to act so rude to the staff that way, but the staff was very calm and kind to the end.
And I do enjoy returning to this Cava because of the light and joyful nature of the workers and the quality of the food. Thank you to Queen and her team for making this experience always great every time I come and visit, and I apologize on behalf of that rude customer.
I wish you all the best and continue to spread love and joy where you can!
From the moment I walked in, I did not feel welcomed. When I asked for basmati rice, the worker automatically put brown rice on my platter. The signage listed one option as “brown rice,” with only a very small note indicating it was basmati, while the other option was clearly labeled “saffron basmati rice.” No clarification was given, and a simple follow-up question could have avoided the confusion altogether.
The portions were extremely small, about two tablespoons of rice with very little chicken. When I asked for more rice and more chicken, it felt like a major inconvenience to the worker. I was told I would need to pay extra, yet the extra portions I paid for were the same amounts I normally receive as standard portions at other CAVA locations. Essentially, I paid extra just to receive what is considered normal elsewhere.
The tzatziki sauce was also watery, which only added to the disappointment. On top of everything else, there were only three employees working, which clearly is not enough, and the understaffing shows in both the service and overall attitude.
Between the poor customer service, unclear signage, small portions, watery sauce, and understaffing, the experience was frustrating from start to finish. I don’t have time for the attitude or paying extra just to receive a normal portion.
Update: second and third visit were excellent. People, place and food were on point!
I was especially impressed by the portion sizes. At places like this, portions can sometimes feel skimpy, but that definitely wasn’t the case here. I received a generous serving of rice and greens, and the amount of chicken was more than I expected. Almost every bite had a piece of chicken in it, which I really appreciated.
They’re also very generous with the sauces. Since I enjoy the sauces, I was happy to be able to add plenty without feeling limited. The restaurant itself was clean, comfortable, and a great place to sit and chat.
Overall, the food was delicious, and for the price and quantity you receive, it’s an excellent value. I had a great experience and would definitely recommend CAVA for both the quality of the food and the value you get.
I first ordered a kids meal for my child and they told me they ran out of kids meals? I then asked what they meant since they had pitas, all they had to do was cut a pita in half. She responded by saying “can’t you see we’re busy.” The only other people behind me was the rest of my family.
When the rest of them ordered she didn’t let one of them know what protein they got, she told the others they couldn’t do pita chips and so on. The only protein they had available was the hot honey chicken which was $1.55 extra, sorry but it shouldn’t be on the consumer because they were chatting. Once we got our meals they were all sitting around chatting again while there was no drinks, etc etc.
Good options for Vegetarians too. Parking is shared and could be challenging during busy times. there are plenty of seating/tables and some outdoor seating too. You stand in the line to order, First you pick the Bowl or Pita bread or salad options etc, then choose the base like Brown rice, white rice then greens, and then move onto chicken or lamb or steak or Falafel for veggies.
I went with the rice bowl with brown rice, then you can add grilled veggies options, pickles, varieties of Hummus, tzatziki and yogurt based, in which you can select up to to 3.
Then select your sauce preference and then add Avocado for an upcharge.
The staff is patient and friendly to assist with the order. The bowl is definitely filling and right priced. The location is well maintained.
The place if definitely worth giving it a try.
