Cattlemen’s Cut Steakhouse, 1400 Market Pl Dr, Great Falls, MT 59404. After a long, successful week of business, we kicked off the evening with an IPA and a Chocolate Martini, the kind of dessert cocktail that blends vodka, chocolate liqueur, and cream into something smooth, rich, and celebratory. It set the tone perfectly. There’s something special about dining in a state where beef isn’t just food, it’s culture. These chefs know cattle the way Californians know seafood, and you can taste that confidence in every plate. Any restaurant bold enough to serve Rocky Mountain Oysters is telling you, without saying a word, “We know our craft.” But what surprised us most was how effortlessly they handled seafood too. Coming from the West Coast, we know fresh seafood, and these Montana chefs rose to the challenge with pride. The salad bar was fresh and inviting, and the shared crab cakes were a standout: jumbo lump crab, roasted red pepper, scallions, and a lemon‑dill‑caper aioli that tied everything together. It was the kind of appetizer that makes you slow down and appreciate the moment. Shrimp Pasta A La Vodka, A generous serving of sautéed shrimp tossed in garlic, crushed red pepper, tomato, vodka, and cream. The sauce clung to the pasta just right, and the garlic toast on the side made it feel like a warm, home‑cooked meal. Porterhouse Pork Chop, A 12‑ounce chop cooked with the kind of confidence you only find in Montana kitchens. The Jack Daniels apple compote added a sweet, smoky finish, and the seasoned mashed potatoes and cow pie chips rounded out the plate with comfort and character. If you find yourself in Great Falls Montana whether for business, family, or adventure, Cattlemen’s Cut Steakhouse is the spot you want to end your day at.

I haven’t been to Cattlemen’s since it was located outside of Great Falls. It was an establishment that provided wonderful memories along with fantastic food.
I often make my own steak at home due to the price but it was an occasion. The booth we sat at had very little lighting, so much so we had to use our phones to review the menu. We giggled about this as it wasn’t overly problematic.
The wait staff was nice and the banter we shared was quite delightful. Prompt on drinks and check ins, truly no complaints.
Next was the food. We ordered a prime rib and and filet mignon. Two pricey slices without a doubt. The filet was ordered medium; upon arrival the top was charred and the center was purple. Asked for a bit more heat. The section my wife cut open was brown however, the center was still slightly purple. We ask for more heat. You could taste the rage. They burnt and pressed the filet into a hockey puck. The grill marks were deep and that wonderful slice of meat had zero moister left. What was provided was a crunchy dissected $50.00 lump of coal.
The prime rib was room temperature and forgettable. Beef is expensive and the idea of going out for a steak is a weighty option. Myself and my party were in agreement we will not go back to Cattlemen’s. What once was, is no longer.
Teach the chefs how to properly cook a steak, probe it if you have to. And never, ever, take your failures out on a client. Word of mouth goes a long way.
Good luck…

Steak is better than Montana Rib & Chop house, I’ve had spaghetti in many restaurants and Cattlemen’s cannot be top off plus very happy to see my wife to enjoy her meal, Thank you very much and definitely we’ll be back again.

Was greeted by a very professional and capable host and seated immediately without reservation. This however was followed by a 25 minute wait from an absent server (Colby) before even getting a drink order in. I understand peak hours but this was slightly ridiculous. This was then met with an absolutely perfect medium rare steak and one of the best ive ever eaten, so compliments to the chef. Aside from the server, this was an amazing experience and I would have to reccomend it in the future.

I figured i would stop by to have a steak. It was a very nice quiet place wasn’t real noisy like most restaurants are. I sat in the bar and was greeted by a young lady named Trish, immediately made sure I had everything I needed, even recommended drinks and food items. By far the best bartender I’ve ever had. Amazing salad bar and ribeye I have ever had. Highly recommend this place to others. Great experience!

I highly recommend this restaurant. Their salad bar is a hidden gem. So few places offer this now. Their salad bar has a nice variety of macaroni/potato salads as well as the standard salad with all the fixings. They also have a cheese carving section and fresh bread to choose from.
Our steaks were cooked perfectly and well rested before we received them. I typically use steak sauce but the sirloin was so tender and juicy that I forgot about the steak sauce. Nice variety of sides too.
