Lots of options for individual preferences. Huge salad bar (unlimited) with lots of options for the lighter side. If you wanted to go heavier they had a variety of choices from steaks to chicken dishes. I had the chicken Alfredo, it was flavorful and the chicken was moist. The green chile stew (which comes in a cup or bowl size) stole the show though! The savory smoky flavor had me coming back for more! I was so satisfied with the meal I had no space for desert!

The food was delicious. We had catfish and the chicken fried steak. Both were wonderful. Our waitress, Natalie, was so friendly and the service was great. We will be back when we ar in Ruidoso.

We went on a non busy day at a non peak hour and had an enjoyable relaxed time at the restaurant. I felt the portions were good enough to not need to get the salad bar with my entree, and the food tasted pretty good. It was also very close to my accommodation at the Sitzmark so I walked there, just have to be careful as the sidewalk is narrow in some parts.

I asked for medium rare and I got medium well on my steak.
The baked potato was fully loaded and I enjoyed it.
My granddaughter asked for well done on her steak and got a lot of pink in it.
My son said is hamburger was good and juicy.
Their creme brulee for the price was super plain, no fruits on it at all, and too much sugar which made it super sweet on the top.

If you’re looking for an old school steakhouse this is the place to go. Great food, AWESOME salad bar. The wait staff is incredible and the vibe is just what you’d expect. I’d definitely come back if I was in the area!

Chicken fried steak was tough and the breading was inedible as it was literally dripping grease. My husband’s burger was flavorless and he was able to eat only half of it. He said it tasted as though it had been cooked previously, then microwaved before serving. The lettuce on the salad bar was wilted, discolored and unappetizing. Fortunately, it wasn’t a total disaster since the green chile corn chowder was very good and the bread was fresh, hot and tasty. Our extreme disappointment (and surprise) stems mainly from the fact that Cattle Baron in Roswell is our fave dining destination where we’ve never had anything but exceptional food and service.

First time at Cattle Baron in Ruidoso and I am impressed. Jaime was our server and she was wonderful. The restaurant is clean and elegant. Parking is super easy compared to everywhere else in Ruidoso. My new favorite restaurant in town!

We were greeted and seated promptly, however it did take a while to get acknowledged by our waiter. The food was not as good as I was expecting. Salad bar and the appetizer sampler was the best thing out of the meal. We ordered the NY strip 10oz and a kids sirloin. The kids sirloin was very dry and tasteless and the NY strip was decent but a good steak should not require A1 to taste good. And it needed it. The sides were small in proportion, it was about a small scoop of mashed potatoes with gravy. I also ordered a pomegranate margarita which tasted like sweet and sour with juice, no liquor was tasted. I got more of a buz from a corona at Pizza Hut. Overall the food was overpriced and the service was not great. The sever could have been having a rough day so we still tipped fairly however I recommend going else where for a tasty meal.

Excellent service and great food. I had a ribeye steak with baked potato, good portions but taste could be better. Also had an IPA beer that was at its coldest point, great for the day. Didn’t give an opportunity to their magnificent salad bar, but you should definitely give it a try. It is a family restaurant, but a little more volume on the music would be nice.
