I had the El Capitano Tacos (shrimp). It came with black beans and buttered rice. Everything was fantastic! I really enjoyed my whole meal. I also had a Horchata. This was my first time at this restaurant and I’m already saying this is my go to meal! Can’t wait to come back.

Food was really really good. I came in Friday evening and they had a good crowd. It was mostly families, laid back atmosphere. Very clean and colorful. Tydra was my waitress and she was awesome. I could tell that they were probably one water short on the floor but Tydra and the others never missed a beat. They were definitely working but always smiling and getting all the customers taken care of. Great team.
FIVE STARS FOR EVERYTHING.

Great neighborhood hangout. Super friendly staff. Had the quesadilla appetizer and it was plenty big for 2 people. Margaritas were excellent! Awesome outdoor patio. Definitely planning on making this a regular occurrence

I have been looking for a Mexican restaurant closer to my house for a while. I accidentally came across this one when getting Papa John’s pizza.

First, when we entered the restaurant it was not busy and a staff member politely said sit anywhere you want. He then grabbed some menus and took our drink order. So far, looking good!

I know it’s not a big deal around here but we lived somewhere else for a while and fell in love with white queso dip, this is the first place in Austin that we found it at. I eat at 5-6 times a week so that’s a big statement. It needed some milk to thin it up a little as within 5 minutes it was so thick it was no longer that great. But with a little milk it would have been amazing.

Also, it’s hard to find chimichangas around here which I find weird. This place has them and they are big, filled with chicken. That said, they added some kind of cheese inside that was so thick you couldn’t get it chewed up to swallow. Kinda ruined it imho. A lot of places around here make enchiladas with that same type of cheese, I’m not a fan of gaging on unchewable cheese so es lo que es. Without that cheese in it and with the white queso on top this would be a killer changa.

Chips were just ok. I prefer warm chips that are super fresh. The place we have been eating for years now has super warm fresh chips, I love that. Salsa was actually really good. I liked it better than my usual place.

My son had their burger. He is pretty picky so when he said he didn’t like it we were suspect, but my wife likes everything and she also thought it tasted weird. The bacon tasted fine, the meat was fine, but the bun had some strange taste. Not sure what is was but nobody wanted it and it got tossed barley half eaten.

Gordita was good, nothing special. Maybe a different meat? Try chicken if we come back.

Beans and rice were not fresh at all and not that tasty. Hoping for better next attempt.

Price was average for local restaurants.

In closing, I bet they will modify the chimichanga for me and my wife liked it and wants to try more things. So, we will come back and give it another go. Update when we do. It’s definitely worth a go as everyone different taste.

Yall had us at marg flight!! Yes please!!

Visited this location after a short hike at Bull Creek.. a fun, festive place just to chill and enjoy food and drinks with friends..

I had the shrimp tacos and loved that they have grilled veggies option on the side.. my bf got the migas with bacon.. too bad tortillas aren’t homemade but still worked for him nonetheless.. extra points for asking how he liked his bacon!! Crispy all the way!! No other restaurants really ask, so kudos!

The marg flight consisted of mango, strawberry and drum roll please.. Pina colada!! Super yum!!

Last but not the least, our server T was amazing!! Our first time here and she definitely made an impression!!

The food was decent, but the service needs improvement. I ordered a shrimp taco with no onions and clearly asked for that when ordering. The waiter said it wouldn’t be a problem, but it still came with onions. When I pointed it out, he laughed and didn’t take it seriously until I showed him the onions on my plate , then he said oh sorry, but that was it. He also seemed confused and rushed, not spending enough time with customers or listening carefully. I hope they improve their attention to detail.

I just moved into the neighborhood and was excited to have a Mexican restaurant nearby. I’m even more excited that it has amazing tasting food and delicious drinks. Chimichanga cheesecake for dessert is a must. This will definitely be a regular spot for me and my family when they come to visit. My parents are hard to please with Mexican food (they’re very traditional Mexican lol) and they loved this place as well. The staff was also extremely attentive and nice!

Catrina’s is a small establishment with a limited menu that reflects traditional Mexican dishes. Their prices are quite reasonable. The entrees and margaritas are good. Their service is quick and the noise level is lower than most restaurants. It’s worth your time to give it a try.

Their Juevos Divorciados are the best we have ever eaten. Juevos Divorciados has one egg with green salsa and one egg with red salsa. The refried beans and corn tortillas were great. My wife and I were looking for a hearty breakfast place in the Steiner Ranch and River Place area at 10 am on Saturday that wasn’t really busy at that time in the morning. We have been checking out the area and wanted to try Catrina’s. Their large, beautiful dining room, the colorful bar and the cool artwork on the walls made us curious about their food. We were the first customers this morning. We were greeted by a super friendly guy named Alvaro. The menu had lots of options, I mean lots of options. So we asked for his recommendation for a breakfast dish. His recommendation was the Juevos Divorciados. My wife and I consider ourselves to be experts of Mexican food. We both decided on the Juevos Divorciados and we savoured every bite.
