If you are looking for a truly spectacular place to eat, this is it. Having been blessed with the opportunity to travel around the world during my Navy service and experience many diverse cuisines, I can say with confidence that the flavor profiles here hit all the right notes. It is a beautiful restaurant where tradition meets sophistication, providing a fine-dining experience that rivals anything you would find in a major metropolitan city.
From the moment you walk in and are quickly greeted by the host, you know you are in for something special. Our server, Jakson, was a consummate professional. His deep knowledge of the menu was instrumental in directing my choices—his recommendations for drink pairings and the perfect sides to complement my entrée were spot on. He was incredibly attentive to our needs without ever being overbearing. Between the top-notch service and the artistic presentation of the food, it was an unforgettable evening. This is, without a doubt, THE place to go in Rapid City.

I had an absolutely incredible experience at Catrachos in Rapid City! From the moment you walk through the door, the entire place is beautifully decorated and welcoming. The atmosphere immediately sets the tone for a special dining experience. The décor is vibrant and inviting, and the music playing in the background creates the perfect energy for the whole experience.
When the food arrived, the presentation alone blew me away. The plantains were served in a beautiful molcajete-style flat stone dish, and my chicken came on a giant stone-style plate that was absolutely stunning. The dishes were embellished with beautiful flowers, making everything look like a work of art.
But the flavor matched the presentation perfectly. The fried chicken was to die for—crispy on the outside yet juicy and incredibly delicious inside, perfectly seasoned and packed with flavor. The plantains with cheese were amazing, the perfect balance of sweet and savory. I also had the Choco Banana shake with oat milk, which was rich, creamy, and the perfect sweet treat to go with the meal.
This place truly lacks nothing. From the moment you walk in until the last bite, all five senses are stimulated—the beautiful décor, the incredible aromas, the vibrant music, the stunning presentation, and of course the amazing flavors. Every detail was perfect. If you’re in Rapid City and haven’t tried Catrachos yet, you are seriously missing out. I will absolutely be back! I have had the pleasure of dining in Miami and Mexico but this takes the cake!

My fiance and I haven’t heard anything about Catrachos so we decided to try it out for her birthday. To start with, everyone was extremely polite and welcoming. The drinks were elegant and not small. I got the Honduran Yuca Frita and that was some of the best pork I’ve ever had, it was crispy and still juicy inside and with the fried yuca it was like a fancy loaded fries you’d get anywhere but the flavor is five times better. She got the Chicken Tacos Catrachos and holy hell they were delicious. The fanciest and most elegant taquitos you’ve ever seen. The Passionfruit Mousse will destroy any other experience you’ve had with a fruit dessert, it is to die for. Overall experience is 5/5 and I would definitely come back here to celebrate anyone I know.

Being from a big city we have struggled to find good food with the options Rapid City has to offer for fine dining or cultural cuisine. The pork belly appetizer and Churrasco steak were phenomenal. The skirt steak was so tender and flavorful that the chimichurri sauce wasn’t necessary but added a touch of fresh garlic onion and cilantro flavors. The combination of the rice, steak and surprisingly the beans and cotija cheese created a delicious flavor palette that made you feel like you traveled to Latin America. We are excited to have a restaurant like this right here in Rapid City and can’t wait to try the brunch this weekend.

The food is absolutely wonderful. Very flavorful and creative dishes. The atmosphere was delightful. We loved how it was decorated with all the plants and flowers on the walls and the ceilings. Seems the wait staff was a little stretched thin. They are super friendly and helpful, but it took quite a while to get our food, and similarly it took a while to get our check and close out our bill.

There are not enough stars for this place. The interior decorating gives the atmosphere a warm South American feel. The menu offers a unique variety of choices. You might call for a reservation as this place could fill up quickly.

The food was perfectly prepared. I had the Huevos Rancheros Tostadas and my husband had the Catrachos omelette. The atmosphere was beautiful and the food was amazing. I haven’t had food this good in a very long time. The portions were large, so I took left overs home and they were very good the next day. I will bringing friends and family here when they come to visit.
