Very accommodating on food choices. Service was great. Plenty of seating for large or small groups. Have a full bar if you’d like choices of drinks. Check out their specials that rotate weekly. They also do take out with generous portions.

Nice people and a comfortable spot. The egg drop soup is good. This is the $28 dinner combo #1, which was slimy and doused in sauce.

I ordered take out today for my husband and I’s 49th anniversary. As my husband is now housebound we could not visit as usual. The food was exceptionally good. The portions were very generous. The order was perfect, nothing was forgotten. The attention to detail is an art that eludes many dining establishments. So a perfect order of delicious food is a great way to celebrate the day. Thank you.

We have driven by this place so many times on our trips coming through spokane. We finally stopped. A family of 6. The food was great, especially the almond chicken. But we were a little taken back by the price and portions. For one person to grt a meal and it be $20-$27 was alot and especially having kids, and then appetizers. It would be nice if they were to drop prices a little more i would imagine the business would pick up if it was a little more family price friendly. But the food was very good. Nothing fancy.

Service was great and fast.
Egg flower soup, BBQ pork, beef fried rice were good.
General Tsos chicken was HARD very unflavorful, pork fried rice just tasted like soy sauce, lemon chicken was soggy.
Probably won’t go back.

Since my wife is Chinese she is more difficult to impress with Chinese food. But, I myself was less than impressed. I think if you don’t know any better you will be good with the food here. I think the UGM would serve about the same quality more or less.

I went to this restaurant with my mom on 2/16/2026. I had grown up going to the Cathay Inn and figured it was a safe choice. It was not. My mom and I both ordered the Dinner Combo #7. It came with Sweet and Sour Chicken, Pork Chow Mein, Fried Rice and Fried Shrimp. They served the Fried Shrimp with ketchup, mustard and sesame seeds, which was very odd. Every other place I have been to served the shrimp with sweet and sour sauce. The shrimp was soaked in grease and the breading was doughy- should have been cooked longer. The fried rice was ok. The egg drop soup and chow mein were very good. The sweet and sour chicken was terrible. The breading on the chicken, again, doughy and not cooked well. It made the entire dish mushy and not good. We will not visit this establishment again. There’s much better Chinese Food in Spokane.

Food was the most average thing you could get. Ketchup, that’s what was given to dip food in, not duck sauce, or sweet and sour. Nothing brings out a Prawns flavor more than ketchup. The variety of food was not there, unless you want $50 worth of just noodles and chicken. Skip this place and go elsewhere, save your money.

I went with a group of friends for a birthday dinner. First off the waiter was amazing!! I ordered a noodle dish and egg flower soup. The others in my party ordered combo dinners to split. Appetizers were good. The egg flowe soup tasted odd and was super salty. The noodle dish was pure salt, noodles looked reheated and the taste other than pure salt tasted like dry dogfood smells when it’s wet. It was disgusting. I have NEVER sent anything back at a restaurant and would not pay for it in my entire life and I am 62 years old!! I did with this meal. I did pay for the soup and tipped the waiter nicely it was not his fault. It dimmed the celebration but we made due. The other dishes were salty as well but was eaten. I will not be going back to the Cathay Inn. It’s truly sad as this used to be the go to restaurant for our family gatherings. It’s went downhill.

Got takeout. Once home, realized the sweet n sour was everywhere. They put it in a paper container with no lid, just flaps folded over. They placed them on their side. It spilled all over the food, bags, our table, floor, and us. Tried calling and all they wanted to do was give us more sweet n sour. They weren’t willing to make it right.
The food was decent. Got cold while cleaning up their mess. The fried rice is not good. Pork chow mein was okay. The bbq pork was the best part of the meal. Didn’t have enough sweet n sour for the pork or chicken. Egg rolls were flavorless. Their general sos is good but very ketchup based. Beyond that, I’d say the whole experience is a 2.5-3 star. With the money we dished out, I expected better.
It would be one thing if they were busy but on pickup no one was even there. Definitely won’t be going back anytime soon.
