There were too many appetizers that looked good so we ended up with 4 apps as our whole meal! So, take this review with that in mind. The entrees may be amazing but we can only speak for some apps! Wings were great. Cheese dip was tasty. Brussel sprouts were good. Tostones with meat – not so much. Meat was tough/chewy and didn’t do it for us. Place is an interesting mix of cozy bar area on one side and brightly lit restaurant on the other. I’d say our experience was about 3.5 stars but I’m rounding up for the cocktails and entrees that looked good that we didn’t try on this visit!

The best coconut martini I ever had! Catharsis Bar & Grill in Hawthorne is amazing! The wings (mango habanero & lemon pepper) were packed with flavor, the tacos and quesabirria were delicious, and the coconut martini was hands down the best I’ve ever had. Great food, great drinks, and great vibes all around.

Blown away by the food and drink options. Everything was delicious from our favorite wings to red snapper, to paella, and their mouthwatering apps! We had a great time celebrating our friend’s birthday. Shoutout to Luis and Pedro for making it extra fun! This is the place to be!

Shockingly good. We stopped on the way to a ski trip and the food was incredibly good. Lomo Saltado, pasta with garlic shrimp, Brussels sprouts, and gyro. All good. Cocktails also delicious. It’s a random location but was a surprising treat.

I returned to this place many years after I played live music last time, in what used to be called Gordo’s. The layout remained similar, but the renovation is great and the food selection is excellent, especially for meat and fish lovers. I love the combination of Peruvian and Greek dishes, a pretty unique mix. The servings are generously sizes and the Catharsis double burger I had yesterday was phenomenal.
The service is outstanding, quick and it comes with friendly smiles. Highly recommended.

The lomo was excellent and the beet salad was delicious. The meat was tender, rice moist and the fries crispy! The salad had the perfect amount of dressing and a nice amount of toppings – not stingy.
The people next to us had some really good looking sliders and a burger.
Not sure why this place isn’t packed!
Have gone back since posting this and had tacos & gyros. Taco Tuesday deals are great! Paloma was yummy and well made.

We were just there for dinner. We were greated warmly at the door and were seated promptly.
The waitress was very friendly and took our appetizer order right away. We had mussels in a saffron broth which were fresh and delicious and a generous portion.
Dinner was the half roast chicken with tostones and lemon potatoes. Everything was seasoned perfectly and the meal came out in a very reasonable time.
There was a blues band that went on in the bar area at 7 pm and it was enjoyable listening to them as we ate.
The prices are fantastic, the service great and the restaurant is clean and comfortable.
Give it a try, you won’t be sorry

Had a great chicken sandwich at the bar. The place was otherwise empty at lunch on Saturday. New ownership. I’ll be back to check out dinner!

Went back for dinner. Spinach pie was amazing. Had the half chicken and the salmon. Both were so very good. Great service. Competitive pricing.

The place had a great sounding menu, so we tried it. We got a wine and beer then the zucchini app. App was good. Pita and oil with olives starter, like the old school bread and butter was nice before the app, was great. Place was dead but we like it quiet. Ordered the skirt steak over pasta and gyro sandwich. All was fine and tasted good. My issue was the menu had prices like the wine was $10 but the check said $10.40. Everything had a 4% increase on it. When I asked the server about the addition she said it was tax. When I asked about the sales tax on the bill that was also added to the 4%, she insisted it was a tax. We paid the full amount and went on our way. I know things are tough these days. My B-in Law has a restaurant in another town not near here, so I get it but to add 4% and not know why is a shame. I can only assume it was a Credit Card fee but saw nothing on the website, menu or check that stated that then the server not knowing either didn’t help me believe it was.
