I ordered the oyster poboy, which comes with an 8 inch poboy, fries, and a 16 oz cup of tea. I also ordered two orders of fried dill pickles. My whole order was a little more than $26.00, which is reasonable for the amount of food I received.
The food: Their sweet tea is the best thing going at Catfish One. Some of the best I have ever had. Wish I could buy a gallon of it. The oyster poboy had a generous serving of at least a dozen oysters on it, and they were hot, fresh, and nicely fried. Not the best I have ever had (that would be Bears in Covington La) but also not the worst by a long shot. The poboy was dressed with mayo that I requested, lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles. The fries were cold and soggy, though, like they had been part of a big batch and left sitting for awhile. Didnt bother us much because we were all about the fried dill pickles. The fried dill pickles were ok but tasted pre frozen. I love fried dill pickles so I am kind of a connoisseur of them, and the best I have ever had is at 51 Diner in Wesson, where they seem to be hand battered, not from frozen. I would give this meal a 7 of 10.
The meh: Got home and–where are the sauces or condiments? Fried dill pickles without dipping sauce? No ketchup, no tarter, nothing. Was I supposed to ask for basic condiments?
The place and people: it is a food stand. You order at the window and then stand around until your food is ready (or you can order ahead and pick up). It took 30 minutes for my food which isn’t bad considering that it was 6PM when I ordered at the window and they were busy.
Conclusion: What we ordered was good and we may order again. I know next time to ask for condiments. The sweet tea was great.

This is a very popular place here in McComb. Lots of people love it, it seems. The ladies who worked here were really nice, but I found the food bland and greasy, but with really healthy portions. We ate most of it so it wasn’t bad. It just wasn’t really good.

I got the Lunker box and everything was delicious! Was plenty of food and did I mention it was SO good? Today was my first visit, I’ll definitely be going back to try out their poboys. Definitely would recommend this place!

If I could give a score of 0 I would. I ordered an oyster plate today. The oysters were so small. I asked if they could do anything about my order. One lady said I could get my money back. Then, a man said I couldn’t get my money back. It doesn’t matter about the money. I just wanted you to see what crap I paid for. I don’t know if it’s new management or what, but I remember at one time, the service was better than this. Every Friday I would order anywhere from 2 to 5 plates and a gallon of tea. As of today, I will never place another order at Catfish One of McComb,Ms. This is terrible quality of food and worst customer service. These are terrible people running this place now. On top of that, I had to wait for the gallon of sweet tea and the gallon of lemonade because when they fixed these crappy oysters they didn’t fix them.

Food was a little salty, but it was good and fresh. I tried the fried corn, but it has a unique taste. I’m not sure if the same batter is used for the seafood, too, but the fried corn tasted fishy. Coleslaw and hushpuppies were amazing. The oysters fried to perfection. But the shrimp and stuffed crab not so much to rave about. I would definitely try them again.
Update: Tried an oyster poboy, and it was really good. It came with fries and drink–Arnold Palmer. I’m definitely gonna try other menu items.

The food was GREAT! The portions were huge, so we should have split the meal. The catfish had a crispy coating that was just fabulous. We also enjoyed the hush puppies and Cole slaw. All the things we ate were VERY good!

We got the “Reel Deal,” it was delicious. Plenty enough to feed four adults. It had 10 pieces of fish, 12 jumbo shrimp, 4 stuffed crab, fries, hush puppies and coleslaw. Their prices are far better than any competitor. Also, they are some of the nicest people.
