Amazing.

Truly dated decor. Cracked linoleum. Older wooden tables and chairs.

Spectacular views from the window, great service, plentiful tasty food.

Home style, home feel and my new home for all I can eat Catfish.

Here’s the Breakdown:

So bad for you good food served by happy people in a down home joint +5 stars.

I’ll go back

Tasty whole or fillets! Go for the all you can eat and get the “spicy” hot versions. Nicely seasoned but not hot. The hush puppies are addictive and hard to lay off of. Some very famous past patrons have been here including Elvis! Come hungry!

Took a long Sunday drive out to Burns to try out this place we’ve driven by before when visiting the nearby State Park. Old school concrete block cafe diner specializes in all things fried. Catfish is the centerpiece. You can get fried clams and shrimp too. The sides are served family style in larger bowls to share. Wait staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Located on U.S. 70 — gravel parking lot. Not fancy but they clearly have a loyal local following.

We are visiting a nearby State Park, Montgomery Bell State Park. We passed this lake side restaurant as we drove to the Park. Turns out it was close. We decided to go back over for dinner. The Catfish Kitchen was a pleasant surprise on our weekend getaway! They were pretty busy but were very attentive to all their visitors. You can see the lake from the dining room. That’s nice.
Our server was very good. She was fast to attend to all our needs. She kept our drinks refreshed. Food service from the kitchen was prompt! Everything was delicious!
We ordered the Catfish Filets meal. Several sides came with them- white beans & relish, hush puppies, Cole slaw ( vinegar or mayo), potatoes ( baked or fires). My husband tried the Pecan Pie for dessert. Everything was great!! They do a good job! Their menu included quite an other options too. We were in the mood for Catfish. Yummy!!
Visit them soon!!

First time going here. The catfish was ok. The spicy catfish had too much batter. I had to take it off. The hush puppies were very plain. No real flavor. Everything seemed to have the same batter. Which was odd. The shrimp and the crab cake breading seemed the same. I have never had a crab cake with this type of breading. I wasn’t a fan. They were good at checking on us. When we got ready to leave there was no one out front. We had to find someone to pay our bill. 2 people came out lol

Update:
Just read that the original place does not do delivery orders . Someone is using this place as a front and sending food from somewhere else like a Captain Ds. Beware

This food looked so good online that I decided to try. Was highly disappointed . Not sure what type of shrimp these are. They were not good. Fries were not salted. This was a waste of money, paid almost 50 with delivery fee and driver tip.

Great spot for fried catfish. Been going here from time to time for as long as I can remember. Food is served family style.
Seating was quick on a Sunday afternoon. Took a while to get our entrees, but we were attended to pretty well while we waited.

Ordered catfish and got somthing that looked as if it were sold out the back of door of a captain d’s, including the the captain d’s carton. I really feel mislead by the website, I would have not ordered if I known what the actual name of the restaurant was. Disappointing food and was pretty much the worst food experience I’ve ever had.

The catfish ws very good! I’m glad they were available and close to the park. Our server was attentive and didn’t miss a beat on bringing malt vinegar. The onion rings were a hit!
