First time in Louisiana, and had to stop at this spot. Salad was great. Sweat tea was perfect. Wasn’t a fan of the fries but the catfish made up for it!!! I don’t go to a fish place for fries anyways haha. Ranch dressing was amazing too. And tartar sauce … mmmmmmm

Came to visit and figured it would have some Louisiana taste… the batter they use has no seasoning at all on anything, hush puppies were hard as a rock I swear I could have thrown it at a bus and but a dent in it. They were out of items and wouldn’t substitute. Definitely don’t recommend this place if you’re looking for a Louisiana(Cajun) style restaurant.

None of their catfish/shrimp etc are fresh, or even bought in America for that matter. All frozen and shipped from overseas -per our waitress. If I wanted food like that I’d go get it from the grocery store. Not what I’d expect out of a local catfish place. On top of that it wasn’t even tasty how it was prepared. Very disappointed.

Brian and I been wanting catfish FOREVeR! So, a good friend told us about the Catfish Hut in Deridder. So we went on a Friday evening. It’s a straight shot from Fort Polk to Deridder on 171. It’s there on the left and easy to spot there on the left. Huge sign and arrow. Plenty of parking.
