We live in Florida, and it’s a 800 mile drive to Jackson, so we don’t get to come often, but every time we do come, you can rest assured, Cat Fish Cabin is on the Agenda!!
Love the food, the atmosphere, the service! Devon was our Server, and he did an amazing job!
There was one wierd incident though, Devon wasn’t in the immediate vicinity and a person at our table needed a fork, so we asked another Server who was walking by if she would grab us a fork. She told us “NO”, but she would get our Server! (Wow) so Devon comes a couple of minutes later and apparently she only told him that our table needed “something”, she didn’t even tell him that allowed we wanted was a fork. So he had to make another trip to go back and get a fork!
Don’t the Servers work “together”? Or is it a competition?
Other than that, we had a great experience!

We had passed this place on our way to Nebraska and made it a point to come back through here and stop and eat on our way home. We were so glad we did! After looking forward to this all week, we were not disappointed. Service was over the top. Thanks Josh! They better keep him. He’s a gem!

4/25- Catfish Cabin. I went to try their food on a recommendation. I was greeted the minute I walked in and was walked to a table. The host was very friendly.
Lydia B. was the server on duty in the back section. She did a great job handling all her customers. I never went without water or felt like I couldn’t ask for anything.
Lydia gave all patrons in her section undivided attention. All those in the area were pleased with the service received. Lydia has a good attitude and makes one feel welcomed and comfortable.
I ordered the Louisiana Catfish. I was told it the meal comes with Hush Puppies and a choice of white beans or coleslaw with three different oils.
The lunch comes with your choice of a baked potato, fries and one more choice. I asked for fries. The meal was a good size.
The catfish has a good taste and it is not greasy like some of the others I’ve had. At only $11.99 for the lunch special, I felt this is reasonable for a lunch meal that is comfort food.
They offer other options all at reasonable prices. I specifically went to try the Louisiana catfish. I had leftover Hush Puppies but made sure to eat the rest
If it seems like it’s out of the way, don’t let it stop you from enjoying an amazing meal. Make sure you ask for Lydia’s section. I’m sure you will get great customer service.

This was our first time visiting the Catfish Cabin and we had heard so much good about it. However, the food we received was not what we expected. One of my husband’s “filets” was nothing more than a child’s “strip” and the boiled shrimp were soggy in whatever seasonings they cook them in. The stuffed crab didn’t taste like it had any crab in the stuffing, but was overwhelmed with red peppers. The fried shrimp and the fish were not even crispy, but limp instead. This was not the food we had expected to receive after hearing and reading such good reviews.
Our waitress, “Bubbles” was absolutely wonderful! She was so friendly and kind. She kept our drinks filled and had everything out to us quickly. I wish all waitresses could learn to have her beautiful smile and personality and help their customers the way she did. Thank you Bubbles. You’re AWESOME!

Big, basic, catfish restaurant (hence the name) Reasonably priced, authentic, nostalgic, and well run place with a well trained staff that can handle it large party easily. (We had 25)
The service was great. The menu had some variety for those who didn’t want catfish, but I’ve learned if a place has a particular food in their name and a picture of it on their sign, that’s what you should order.
They have a decent steak and hamburger but my shrimp was mushy. The catfish was the standout. Get the catfish.

Food was great and our server Josh was just as great. If I owned a restaurant I would hire him in a heartbeat beat! He was one of the best! I’m from Alabama but if I ever pass through this area again I will definitely stop by and eat here.

We had an amazing meal tonight on our day trip! The food was amazing and cooked perfectly! Our waitress Jennifer went above and beyond to make our meal exactly what we wanted. All staff was very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be coming back here for another meal!

Baked potato arrived to cool to melt butter. Asked for warm hush puppies and was told 5 minutes later they just dropped a batch. We left because the potato and fish would be ice by then. Paid for meal and no one asked how it was. I just will not go back for awhile!

First time eating here. We all got the catfish filets. They were very good. We chose both types of slaw (creamy and vinegar) both were good but our group preferred the vinegar dressing. Hushpuppies were OURSTANDING! Ordered fried pickles. It was a very generous amount to share. Excellent service. Ask to be seated in Lydia’s section. She is awesome! Tip that girl well! ❤️
