Absolutely killer baked goods and Mex food. I’m from San Diego, I’ve grown up with Mex food my entire life and consider myself spoiled and picky with my food. Castro’s mex food is outstanding. Fresh house made tortillas and fresh ingredients. One of the best meals I’ve ever had. This place is a must go if you’re passing through, I’m so happy I decided to give them a try. I also got their sugar and cinnamon donuts as well, which we’re also fantastic. Next time I come here I’ll be trying more baked goods! Castro’s, please consider opening up another bakery in San Diego California, this bake shop/Mex food combo would kill it in our city. Cheers!

If you go here please try the tortillas de arina we bought 20 to go before leaving! Also got menudo so good they use real maiz. Tried the red tamales they were also very very good.

I visited at 6:30 AM on a Monday morning, a bit frustrated because the Denny’s in town said it would be open on Google but wasn’t.
Castro’s was warm, inviting, friendly and delicious.
I enjoyed the mini cheesecake pastry, a breakfast burrito and a coffee for $14, plus $3 tip.
I like this place a lot.

We had vegetarian quesadillas and burritos. They were whole. Yum! That salsa was the best!
Don’t miss their pastries. You cannot get something like this in Bay area and it’s all vegetarian.

What a surprise find on our way to LA from San Jose. Great handmade tortilla and the Tripas extra crispy, Langua, and Carne Asada were all amazing. Ingredients were all fresh. My family all enjoyed their food!
