Well, since no one reached out on my Doordash review, here it is. Our last few experiences were pretty terrible. The last time we ordered, there was hair in our wings, not just one, a few- I thought SC was a state you had to wear hair coverings, so not sure what happened. This last time, the girl on the phone had to keep putting us on hold just to find out pricing for every thing we asked for, so on hold multiple times, so we decided it would be more efficient to order on DoorDash. After placing our order, the store called and said we would need to provide cash when delivered because the DoorDash pricing was incorrect. Our order came so sloppy, wings were soggy and unflavored and the salad warm and gross. My husband and I were so disappointed, and will never make the mistake of ordering here again. I’ll say, the first couple of times we went to Castillos, it was WONDERFUL! Fresh and crispy wings, wonderful salad and pizza. Not sure if management changed, or what, but be warned.

If you like a good New York style pizza, then this little Mom & Pop place downtown is for you. No frills, just good pizza. Great service

I understand that this restaurant is in Walterboro, therefore it does not get the traffic/business that a place would say, in Charleston. Profit is likely barely above expenses, I get it.
However, I don’t find that to be valid reasons, for the experience I had.

As I’m walking into the restaurant, I say “Good Evening” to an Employee taking a Smoke Break out Front (that part is no issue), got a blank look & no response (great 1st impression). I walk into the restaurant, immediately notice the separated/bowed up flooring, extremely dusty fan blades & loose flour under a Food Stand (indicates that routine, deep cleaning is not done). I arrived at 6:45, 10 minutes after their “It’ll be ready in 15 – 20 mins”. I ask the Counter Lady for my order, “It’ll be just another minute”. 15 Minutes later, I got my food.

The ONLY reason I’m leaving a 3-Star Review & not a 1-Star, is because my Wife didn’t mind her pizza. I don’t expect a random pizzeria to be immaculate with amazing food, but I’m Half Sicilian & the cheese in my Stromboli was either undercooked/melted, or the quality of the cheese itself was not great. The Onion Rings were also Soggy. Ironically, the cooks seem to be Most-Responsible, for the Restaurants Continued Survival. The other aspects of the food, show that there is great potential.

Again, I understand this is likely a Low-Profit Business, in a Low-Populated Area, but the quality of Customer Service & Ingredients must be improved, to deserve a higher rating.

The pizza was great – thin crust, a really good sauce and great flavor. The restaurant is not fancy, but the folks that ran it were really nice. We came off I-95 for lunch. We’ll be back!

Good meatballs, great sub rolls the marinara took a vacation so I had to ask for some, twice. Staff is a bit too laid back (they need one person on the floor that can hustle). Bathroom needs attention. Legalize Marinara !

I grew up in a lovely NY/NJ based Italian-American community. I have lived in Italy… and what is being represented as Italian food is this place saddens me. Food took over an hour to be delivered (its 8 minutes away from the hotel), they only brought a partial order, no utensils were provided, and the customer service can best be described as lackadaisical. Very disappointed in the overall experience. I normally try not to be a harsh judge, but when I have to contact a restaurant multiple times for an ETA and upon receipt, the order is incomplete and/or incorrect, that is unsat.

This place was so great! We are from Midwest & East Coast & haven’t found any Italian restaurants in SC until here! We ate, ate, & ate! The pizza was my favorite & you can smell the sauce for the hot wings ❤️. The customer service was excellent! We will be back!

more than just a pizzeria. Good selection of Italian foods. The food was really good and the servings were almost too large. It’s probably the first place I’ve ever eaten that gave me more food than I could handle.

Food was good. Very dark place not well lit. Bathroom was messy and not kept. Floors need attention. Staff sitting and using multiple tables. Overall probably better for take out than dine in.
