I originally tried this place about 18 months ago and it was just ok. I gave it another shot about 4 month ago and the taste of the food was outstanding…so much so that I had to ask why the food changed so much. Apparently the owner is back from Thailand and has resumed cooking.

We usually order out but we sat down to eat at the restaurant today and the decor is very warm and inviting. Our waitress was very attentive and gave helpful suggestions. They brought the food as it came out which I love because all the dishes were piping hot. Such a great rediscovery in lovettsville…highly recommend.

We got the crab ragoon, pad thai w/shrimp and pad see ew w/ chicken. The food was amazing very tasty. Highly recommended Staff were friendly and were obviously a small family bussiness. They checked in with us and took pride in thier food. The vibe was relaxed and nice.

Do not get the pho. No fresh bean sprouts (from a can), tough beef, tasteless broth, and a whole onion! See the plate of onions taken from my plate…Including the onion skin. Do
Not get the ramen. Hubs got it…soy sauce broth, inedible…literally.

Do get the wonton soup, it’s good…but it’s $10…and small.

The waiter was a young man. Very polite with great aspirations. He was very apologetic when I brought up some problems with the Not his fault. Still left him a tip. Although he did forget my tea.

My husband and I just moved to town from a city in Florida where good Asian food and Boba tea with a cute atmosphere are a must! We ordered the Chicken Pad Thai, Spicy Ramen Noodles, and Cookies & Cream Boba — and were pleasantly surprised!

The ramen noodles were actually spicy and full of flavor, and the Pad Thai had just the right amount of sauce. The bean sprouts added the perfect crunch that tied everything together.

The Cookies & Cream Boba was honestly the best I’ve ever had! I was hesitant to try it since most places use too much milk and it waters down the flavor, but this one was perfect!

We were so impressed with the food and service that this will definitely be one of our go-to spots!

And yes, the owner’s family was watching a show while the adults worked, it didn’t bother us at all. It just made the place feel even more homey and family-oriented.

TLDR: Cassia has a new manager and they are working hard on trying to improve. Kudos to Khun A and Khun Pham.

Over the past few years I’ve ordered regularly from Cassia. As someone who as lived in Thailand, I’ve found Cassia’s cuisine to be adapted for the local taste and still good. They have in particular well adapted some dishes like the tamarind battered shrimp (General Cassia).

Last year or so however, the management changed and the quality dropped drastically. Almost no shrimp in the eggplant shrimp dish, food underseasoned, mushed noodles and overcooked beef in the pad see ew. It was overall terrible. We I contacted the manager about it, he gave me a bit of a hard time and was rather unwanting to compromise. In the end he offered to replace our order at a time of our choosing. Unfortunately when we ordered again a month later, not only the process was difficult but also the food was barely better. We gave up on ordering from Cassia again.

Cue to now, a family member wanted to try them again. Order is placed and I’m on time to pick it up. I was told food would be ready in 5 to 10 minutes. After waiting 20 minutes, the host came to tell me they ran out of part of the noodle dish I ordered and they offered to replace it with something else which told me they had just started making my order, after another 25 minutes I gave up and drove to another place.
A short while later the manager called me to let me know my order was ready over an hour after the expected pickup time. I explained that unfortunately I would not be picking up. She profusely apologized with the mix up explaining the complex situation they had that night. She offered to go above and beyond and deliver the food to our house and have the whole meal completely on the house. After some back and forth where I explained I already ordered elsewhere and maybe gifting the food to the staff she mentioned she wanted us to try their food again and give them another chance.

A little later Khun A, the new manager that started only a few weeks ago, and Khun Pham, the chef, came in person to my house with extra treats to deliver the food.

In the end we had their food the next day. Less than optimal but I commend them for trying to always improve. Food and logistic can always be optimized, but that level of care and service is what makes a true difference. Thanks to their effort I’ll make sure to give them another chance and order again soon 🙂

Went for first time for lunch today. Service was friendly but a little slow at times considering we were the only ones in the place. Spring Roll was good but wish they would have brought some dipping sauce instead of drizzling it over the roll for me. My son had the Bangkok Basil with beef and he said it was pretty good. I had the General Cassia with chicken. I thought it was good but did not like how they put a bed of lettuce in the bottom of the bowl, thought the dish was a little small for the price (it is chicken) and the taste was more “brown” than I was anticipating. When I saw the name…I was hoping it would taste more like General Tso’s chicken but it did not. I will go back to try something else although I might get takeout next time.

Just ate here again using take out. Epic failure. Got the Crying Tiger Special and was completely disappointed. 3 small take out dishes was $60. 2 of the orders were for the Crying Tiger Special and it was absolutely the worst rice of any kind I have ever had in my life. Was supposed to be sticky rice…was a blob of some type of rice in some type of saran wrap inside of an aluminum wrap. Was just absolutely bad in every way. Won’t be going back…major disappointment

I’m sure the food is fine, but 3 of the 3 times I’ve tried to order over the past two years they have failed to actually provide the food I ordered. In addition to leaving their restaurant empty handed, I have also been left to wait upwards of 30 minutes each time while they give me the runaround. It’s super disappointing. I don’t leave bad reviews for small local businesses lightly, but they have had plenty of opportunities to figure it out.

Family run business! Pad see ew is excellent; great sauce – deep tangy and sweet flavor. The noodles are narrower than I’m used to, but they worked just as well as the wider ones! A generous serving of vegetables and chicken.

Would definitely come back.

I’ve tried many of the Thai restaurants in the area and this is one of the best. The portions were large and all three dishes – General Cassia, drunken noodles with tofu and a fried rice were excellent and reasonably priced. Wait staff were friendly and attentive. Tables were elegantly set and decor was fun and interesting. Give it a try!

Second visit – just as good as the first – excellent tofu pad Thai and Basil fried rice with shrimp and a pot of cardamom tea on a cold day. The server was charming and pleasant and efficient.

Take out so I can’t rate the atmosphere. Many restaurants in Lovettsville are closed on Mondays which is why we chose this one. Won’t be doing that again. The curry pasties were tasteless and the dipping sauce was just simple syrup with some chives. The vegetables were completely soggy in the Hong Kong Soup and the broth was salty and bland sumultaneously.Chicken dish portion was very small. Will not buy again and if we had been in the restaurant I would have returned the soup.
