Best words to describe this restaurant is could have should have been. It has all the right ingredients to be a 4- 4-1/2 star experience. The food is good, not great but headed in the right direction. Due to its price I surely expect a bit more of flavor. When you order you get a choice of a salad or soup, the waiter brought albondigas. The broth was 7/10 but the meat was a 3/10. The enchiladas were good. 8/10 what blew my mind was the cucumber/lemon agua Fresca 10/10 wow factor. I recommend the patio setting, and perfect for a romantic evening. Unfortunately, the waitstaff was too busy and too way too long after we finished our meal. I will say, he did go above and beyond with allowing me to take my beverage home in a To- go cup.

What a fabulous place to meet friends, imbibe a little and enjoy some great eats. All on a sun-filled patio with umbrellas, and table tops for two or a party of lively folks. Under the same management for over 30 years, this restaurant is a real treasure. Wait staff are super friendly and accommodating too!

A unique Mexican restaurant visited by locals! I enjoyed this shrimp dish that I’ve never seen before in other places. Perfectly cooked and seasoned shrimp. The soup was cozy :). A little gem in LA. Highly recommend!

We had high hopes based on the reviews, but we’re not sure we’d return for the food, it wasn’t bad, just lacked flavour. However, we LOVED the spicy margaritas and the chips with salsa (many different spice ranges) and guac! We’d definitely come back for drinks and appetizers.

Truly the best! I hosted a private event at Casita in October 2025 and from start to finish the staff were unbelievably kind and helpful, making sure our event felt smooth and stress‑free. Alex (Manager) and team worked with us to adjust the space so everyone could mingle comfortably, which made the night feel extra special. The ambience is incredible: beautiful outdoor patios with comfy seating and a lively yet relaxed vibe, plus a really cool interior with that giant tree that gives the place so much character. The food and drinks were delicious, and every guest had a great time. Definitely a memorable night and a place I’m excited to return to for dinner again soon!

We love Casita! The food is nothing super special in terms of LA Mexican food, but the ambiance is perfect, and the salsa is my favorite basic restaurant salsa around. Great for kids, a date, a group, whatever! Service is always super friendly and attentive. There is a room with TVs that never gets too crowded, so it’s also a sleeper place to watch a game with a meal 🙂

I’ve been going to this restaurant my whole life and it is my favorite restaurant ever. I’ve had fancy rich people food with caviar and stuff like that but nothing beats Casita Del Campo. Albondigas soup my favorite soup ever. So good. AND THE SALSA IS THE BEST SALSA IN THE WORLD MY FAMILY ALWAYS FIGHTS OVER IT BECAUSE ITS SO GOOD IT IS 10/10 !!!!!!

Ambiance is cool, service is fine, but the food wasn’t good, unfortunately. Had the potato taquitos, just bland, plain potatoes inside. Salsa wasn’t great, but the chips were good. Carne asada was very dry and chewy.

If you see a bright pink building in Silver Lake that looks like a Barbie Dreamhouse had a mid-life crisis and became a cantina, you’ve arrived at Casita del Campo. It’s a neighborhood legend, mostly because it feels like you’re having dinner in a 1960s psychedelic forest.
The main attraction inside is a giant, sentient-looking rubber tree growing right through the middle of the dining room. I’m pretty sure it’s the one actually running the business. The history is just as wild—the original owner was one of the “Sharks” in the 1961 West Side Story, which explains why the margaritas are strong enough to make you think you can pull off a choreographed gang fight in the street.
You have to get the guacamole served in that classic, crispy tortilla bowl—it’s the ultimate comfort-food throwback. But the real secret is the basement theater, The Cavern Club, which hosts the campiest, funniest drag shows in LA. It’s a loud, proud, pink happy place that doesn’t take itself too seriously. If you want a dinner that feels like a party, this is the spot. Just watch your chips around the tree.

Came here on Thursday at 6 pm with a reservation for 4. It was kind of full for a Thursday. Valet parking at 7$, limited street parking. Restaurant has great atmosphere and great decor.
Ordered guacamole and chips, and they were good but missing a little salt and lime. Ordered the Carne Asada plate and was a very good and decent size for the price. Rice and beans were ok. Wife had camarones al mojo, and she thought they were good but no wow factor. Beers were 8$ and a bit steep, in my opinion. Overall, this is a good spot to hang.
