Casita de Oro was a wonderful find during a business trip to Brookings. We totally forgot that winter hours in Gold Beach means no one is open on a Tuesday night, but they were!

This tiny little spot was HOPPING. They only have three 4-tops and 6 bar seats, so expect to wait for a seat. Or, better yet, use their drive through window for a grab and go meal. The inside is designed like your traditional Mexican restaurant with rustic paintings on the walls, lots of bright colors, parrots, etc. You know the place, its your favorite neighborhood Mexican eatery.

The food was pretty darn good. I had the Camarones Rojo and my wife tried the birria torta. Both dishes were fantastic, the shrimp was spicy and super flavorful and their beans & rice are AMAZING. Best I’ve had outside of Mexico really.

My wife loved her torta. The carne was juicy, the bread crispy on the outside and chewy inside, fantastic. You have to order the consume separately but its a must. It ranks in my wife’s top 3 favorites.

There were only a couple not quite perfect things. Nothing to major, but worth mentioning.

The birria torta came with raw jalapeños. While fresh and usually enjoyable, this just provided an additional raw heat that didn’t go we’ll with the rest so she removed them.

If you dine in they provide chips & salsa. Unfortunately the salsa was quite bland. The chips needed salt too. They worked as an appetizer but could have been better.

They have a few more dishes we’re excited to try and look forward to eating here again!

I’ve tried this place 3 times, and I was impressed. The first time, I asked for al pastor tacos, but Adobe was a different area of Mexico, which is ground pork instead of pieces cut off in strips. It was good, but I’m not a fan of the texture. The 2nd time was an asada torta. Wow, the bun was not large enough to hold all the ingredients (ate the rest with a fork). The 3rd time, it was the fish taco plate, and it was awesome the rice and beans spot on. The taco’s themselves were very flavorful and filling. I wish for two shells each because so many ingredients it tears the shell and you have a fish taco salad. I really liked their flavors and the mango habanero sauce (I asked for extra) . I will go again ,the drive thru staff was helpful and friendly and I didn’t go inside so not sure of the ambiance or atmosphere.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ BEST Mexican food we’ve ever had, hands down.

This is truly the best Mexican restaurant we have ever eaten at. From the moment we walked in, the service was warm, welcoming, and genuine. You can immediately tell this place is family-owned and operated, and that love and pride shows in everything they do.

The food? Unreal. Every single bite was fresh, flavorful, and cooked to absolute perfection. You can taste the quality, the tradition, and the care put into each dish. This wasn’t just a meal, it was an experience. Honestly, it set a new standard for what Mexican food should taste like.

The service was just as impressive as the food. Attentive, kind, and truly grateful for their customers not rushed, not indifferent, just genuinely wonderful people.

We were beyond impressed and will be telling everyone about this place. If you’re even considering coming here, stop thinking and just go. This restaurant deserves all the support and recognition it can get. We’ll absolutely be back again and again.

My mom and I are on a road trip down the coast, we had been driving all day and needed a hot meal after checking into our hotel. This place hit the spot! I had the taco and enchilada combo and my mom had the enchilada and chile relleno combo. So tasty. The chips and salsa were a classic. The service was good and the place was cute too. Thank you.

The price was very high for what we got. The service was average but when you ask for extra pico de gallo and you don’t get it. $8 for Strawberry lemonade and $3 extra for a splash of consomme that was put on its side in the bag and leaked all over and there was only a splash in the container. Was not impressed with the overall experience. I Don’t mind paying $75.00 for good food and service but nothing was outstanding when only two people were eating.

Little Mexican restaurant off the highway in the middle of this beach town with all flavors you expect. Family owned, friendly and speed service. The portions I thought were big, maybe a little too big if you are on a diet. You will definitely not be hungry for a while after you eat here.

We stopped by on our drive along the coast- husband ordered a steak torta and I had birria tacos with consommé. Best consommé I’ve had- so delicious. Everyone was kind and attentive, thanks for a great meal.

I don’t necessarily like leaving bad reviews unless something went very wrong, and that was not the case. But…. It wasn’t exactly a good experience. None of us finished our food. Now I will say, my brother and sister in law really liked their boba smoothie. We actually went back for more of those. So that’s good.

Best food anywhere hands down. Even if you’re just passing through you have to stop and eat and drink here. You will not be disappointed. The Reyes family who owns this place are awesome and go out of the way to make sure you are happy
