Just stepped into the Cascade Cafe because I wanted to have a look around and see what the vibe was. It was under construction, so you had to go around to the left side of the building. They have a nice outdoor seating area. When I went inside, the place wasn’t empty. A lot of people weren’t there, probably because it’s in front of the zoo and people are mostly in the center or the far back area of the zoo. It is quite a big building. There are tons of seats inside. It is nice and clean. There are plenty of caffeinated beverages like lattes and coffee and snacks as well as foods like fruit bowls and sandwiches.

Nice cafeteria style option in the Zoo with enough choices to refuel yourself and rest a moment. Cashier was friendly enough and they had decent drink options. There was also a limited seating area along the Bird Arboretum which was cool!

Best real food at the zoo. A bit pricier than I would like, but really good taste and portion size. I’m never going to get a meal anywhere else when I go to the zoo.

Espresso and other beverages, sandwiches, salads, pastries, and popcorn. Prices seemed reasonable for the venue. Staff was friendly and efficient. It is accessible without zoo entry. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Clean restrooms are available. Additional restrooms are available on the right side building near the lockers. Paved parking available for a fee paid by app or machine. There is limited free parking in turnouts around the park. The TriMet Washington Park MAX Station is in front of the zoo. Bus 288 and a free park shuttle also stop there.

I have actually made a trip to the zoo just to eat at the cascade grill. I don’t know why but this place serves such good food. One of the best burgers in the city. They just updated their menu and it has even more great food now. It’s a little bit pricey but not prohibitively so. It’s local, sustainable and supports the zoo and staff. Highly recommended. The only downside is the short hours. I’m always disappointed when I come and it’s closed.

This used to be a sit-down restaurant a number of years ago. Then it was a counter-type lunch place with burgers and many sandwiches. Now it’s just a coffee shop, despite the really large “dining room” and many tables. There are lots of food carts down in the main zoo, and the Avian Cafe for indoor food.

Located near the Zoo entrance. Quick and friendly customer service. Great coffee and lots of outdoor seating. 🙂

My worked rented this for an employee event and the venue was pretty good. The staff was super friendly and always there when you had a question or needed help. The room is pretty big, we managed to get about 450 at round tables for our event. They have sound equipment, mics, and projector that you can use for an extra fee but it’s not too bad. The only thing I would actually complain about is the speakers. They are above your head and the quality of them are pretty low (think principle over intercom) so I would recommend bringing your own. Other than that it was a pretty good experience

Pretty standard stuff. Got a gluten free bun cheeseburger combo. I like that you can dress up your own burger. The bun was suppose to be grilled but wasn’t. I wish they had the food on plates. I was there for a concert so maybe they don’t do it after a certain hour but since I ate the table would of liked plates instead of wrappers.

Went to visit Oregon Zoo and found the place inside the park. Best fries I ever had. Chicken sandwich was also good and big enough.
