Ive been coming to Casamon’s for once a week or once every 2 weeks for about 2 months.
I love their oxtail and the dude thats usually there but lately it has been a woman which I think is his mom.
She’s sweet but the food today was not it. I decided to grab jerk chicken today since I wanted to explore their menu and this is NOT jerk chicken. This is an overpriced $27 chicken with bbq sauce over it. Their oxtail is probably the best thing there but still pretty pricey since its $30.
Not sure how I feel about coming back anymore.

What a great Google Maps find!!!! Stopped by en route to the airport and the lovely lady that took our order also prepared our food. When I first saw my goat roti I was like “OH MY, it’s so BIG” which already had me happy but then I tasted it…..FANTASTIC ❤️. It was beautifully seasoned and wonderfully tender goat in particularly every bite. My wife’s saltfish dinner was super delicious and devoured in no time! Will definitely return when in the area again. Thank you for the wonderful food and service.

I ordered a large Jerk Chicken, I picked up at the place, the food did NOT taste good,not a bit of Jerk Chicken flavor, just normal plain roasted chicken. With BBQ sauce over it, And for the cost of $29 dollars, That’s Applebee’s price , they’re not authentic Jamaican food. I’m from Rahway, I love supporting our local business. My advice to them is, please hire a Jamaican chef.

I have been meaning to try out this place for months and finally had the chance today. I ordered the sampler platter that came with jerk chicken, oxtail, and salmon with rice and peas, mac and cheese, and a cabbage slaw. It was my first time trying oxtail (8.7/10) and I was impressed! The meat was tender and juicy. The salmon (6.5/10) was good, albeit a bit dry. The jerk chicken (8/10) was juicy and tasty! The mac and cheese (8.5/10) was soft but flavorful. The rice (7.8/10) was seasoned well and tasted good! i’m not a cabbage fan personally but the cabbage slaw (6.7/10) was seasoned well. I typically prefer mine cooked down a bit more but it was a good contrast with the rice. Lastly, I had a passionfruit juice (8.9/10) which was sweet, refreshing with the right hint of sourness.
The service was quick and pleasant! The lady at the front was nice and had my order ready in a decent amount of time.
It’s a cute family owned business and although they don’t have a large space, the food is great. It’s a bit pricy budget wise for one person but I did order the sampler and it did come with a hefty amount of food so I believe the price was fair. I will definitely be back for more!

I ordered the chicken casa pasta and a beef patty. Pasta/sauce was great but I wasn’t a fan of cut up chicken pieces on top of the pasta. I was expecting something else like a chicken breast cut up and that’s my bad for not asking. Can’t blame anyone that’s my preference. For the 30 dollar price I had soooo much pasta but not enough chicken.
The beef patty was really good besides temp! Probably the best I’ve had. Waited about 25 minutes for it to be made fresh while we were waiting for the main dishes to be made to go. When it was brought outside to me the edges were piping hot and the middle was completely cold so I wasn’t sure what was made fresh about it. The taste was like it was handmade though. I was hungry so I tore it up.
She ordered the oxtail meal and really enjoyed hers.
I think I will try something else next time but not the pasta again. Staff was VERY welcoming and friendly so that was no issue at all.

Been wanting to go here for a while, and my lawd, was it well worth the wait. Went with the sampler platter to try a little of everything. And EVERYTHING was bangin!
My wife devoured the oxtail, I think I only had a chance to get one bite in. The salmon was legit the best seasoned salmon I’ve ever had. The curry chicken paired perfectly with the rice and peas. The mac and cheese would be a hit at any Thansgiving. I was so full, I didn’t even get a chance to get to the plantains and cabbage. It’ll be part of my morning breakfast.
Bertram (I hope I spelled that right) was the best! I hope this restaurant stays open for a long, long time. I gotta go back for the oxtail empanadas. My wife demands it haha
UPDATE: We eat here weekly! And oxtail empanada is my wife’s go-to.

I’ve ordered food from Casamon on several occasions and the food has been nothing short of amazing . It is my home away from home comfort food. The food is consistently on point with tasting the same every visit . I wanted a hearty lunch last week and opted for the chicken curry … it tasted like my moms cooked food and hit the spot !! Seeing someone’s mom put her heart and soul in her cooking everyday for people really shows the dedication of delivering Authentic Caribbean cuisine !!!

I got a chance to experience this greatness yesterday. I was blessed to get the first bite of the fresh mac and cheese… I am still trying to find words. I had oxtails, cabbage, and rice & peas. I came back shortly after and decided I was not cooking this week. I wanted to try everything, and the food exceeded my and my family’s expectations. Everything was flavorful and perfect! Not to mention the owners being so humble and kind, displaying a true passion for creating authentic caribbean dishes. If you are in the area, pull up you will not be disappointed.

Bought a deal through “Too Good to Go” and was very excited to try this place. Showed up at the designated pick up time and the restaurant was closed. The sign on the door showed it was supposed to be open until 8 but lights were off and doors locked at 6:30. Very disappointed.

My bf and I had Casamon for the first time today and it was AMAZING. The jerk chicken tastes so good and the Mac and cheese was my favorite. You can tell how authentic the food is and the owners are so sweet. They definitely have 2 new customers for life. I’m coming back for the Oxtail and Stew Chicken!
