My husband and I had to run to Defiance Ohio this evening so I googled Mexican restaurants and Casa Vieja came up. We had amazing service an hour before closing time. I of course got a tamale and taco which were amazing. The hamburger on the taco wasn’t greasy leaving the corn hard shell nice and crunchy! The margarita was super tasty – see photo- that was a small!!!! . I always get hot salsa and Casa Vieja blend tonight was super hot but great taste. Our waiter said they used a small red pepper – guessing the Thai pepper. They were so nice and gave me a hot salsa to go! I can’t wait to come again even though it’s an hour from house!

I would rate them a zero if I could. The chips and salsa was great, staff was friendly…however the super burrito tasted like it had dog food in it according my husband. He could barely eat it and he loves burritos. My food had zero flavor…that gave a off taste. We will NOT recommend this restaurant.

we had the best waiter tonight. didn’t get his name but he was very friendly and helpful. the prices are just right. and the food is great. the service as whole is excellent. did i mention our waiter ( who is afraid of snakes) was great and helped our grandson who had just been bitten by a snake.

I’ve loved this place over the years but lately the food has gone downhill. This evening was my last straw, they were not very busy as we were eating bout 5-530. It took 2 different people to bring the 2 different queso dips and drinks at different times then having to ask twice for the second bowl. The only hot food that we consumed that evening was my fajita meat, which comes on a sizzle plate. After eating we sat their for almost 10 minutes waiting for the check, while watching our main staff talk to people at the bar. Paying for the meal cashier asked how everything was and straight up said cold and I wouldn’t come back. They get 3 stars for the simple fact they were a main staple of Mexican food in the past.

It’s a fairly small restaurant, but the food is amazing. Very courteous and friendly wait staff. Their margaritas are very good. Sometimes, we’ll when get chips and salsa carry out, because we like they’re salsa so much.

Food was good but really bad waitress. I’ve had that same waitress a handful of times there and she always has a nasty attitude never got any refill on my drink and that’s that my waitress walked pass my table over and over and just would look at my Empty glass but wouldn’t dare ask me if I wanted a refill and never once asked me if everything was OK. And when I went to the counter to pay my bill the man that rang me up was also rude I guess my money isn’t green enough for him. This is at the Defiance location. The Archbold location does an awesome job!!!!!

We visited during lunch. My husband and I were sat quickly. There wasn’t a lot of people there at lunch on a Monday (expected) and our food was great. I had chicken tacos. Service was good too. Will return.
