Me and some coworkers came while on a conference trip. We went close to closing time, but they welcomed us in. Great place. The food was pure and authentic. Tasted like I was at my abuelas house. 10/10 if i return to Sarasota, this will be the first stop to eat! And i spent $30-$50 not because it was expensive, but because i ordered a lot of food for myself because i didnt know what to get. I got the churrasco with chimichurri, arroz mampostiado, tostones, queso frito with salsa de guayaba(ridiculous), alcapurria, and my coworker got the chicharrón de pollo.

Loved this space. I ordered the fried fish and it was delicious. My husband had the grilled chicken and my son had the lechón sandwich.
There is no bar but they do sell beer and wine and sangria.
Would certainly recommend. Staff was very attentive and checked up on us often while the restaurant was really busy.

The food is wonderful, but you will wait for it since they make it per order. However, it is worth the wait. We also had some of the homemade ice-cream, which was delicious. The wait staff seemed to be new and were on a learning curve.

Extremely salty I couldn’t eat it! It wasn’t just tasty-salty, it burnt my throat after every bite. The mamposteado rice is not culturally how is done, this was just the rice and the beans mix, and they added maduro platain which is not topical and everything taste like laurel leaves. A good mamposteado needs ham, recao and red peppers and mostly tasted like red sauce and is not serve like my grandma used to give me rice with the spoon to my plate you know. And the carne guisada not only was extremely salty but it wasn’t tender at all, it was like chewing cardboard. So yeah, we wanted to try this place but we definitely we don’t recommend it. I will say they have decent alcapurrias for the price but my god why do you need so much salt!!!!

Hidden gem, seriously authentic flavor and great date place. No complaints from either of us, puerto rican beer and just great flavor not too much, not skimpy. Even the chicken topped tostones in my picture blew my mind and i normally am indifferent to those because always greasy or salty or bland, but these were great. Legit going back soon, wish we had found sooner

Food is good, place is nice (it feels like a nice little cozy place, como el patio de una casita) we order just an appetizer, it was great, but the only down thing is that food take a little longer to get served, Is a restaurant operated by the owners (husband kitchen, wife serving) and she is serving with nice attitude, not to long they open it but if they get better on serving and cooking the meals it would be great… like a said amazing food and there is not to many puerto rican food around that area…
