My family and I have gone to plenty of rodizio’s before like Texas De Brazil, Fogo De Chao, Choripan and not once have we ever experienced anything like this. We were not only out to celebrate, but picked Casa Nova due to it only being a mile away from Prudential Center, where we were seeing a comedy show later that night. We should have known instantly by it being absolutely empty on a Saturday night at 7pm.
I ordered a steak, my father decided to do the all you can eat, and my mother ordered fish. Starting with my father, he had told them right from the beginning he only wanted the steak options like Picanha, Alcatra, etc. no sausage or anything like that. After fifteen minutes of waiting, nothing had even touched our table. Therefore, very nicely he went up to the waiter asking if they could bring out the food since it seemed like nothing was happening. Finally, they came out with some food but it was sausage, he said no thanks, and five minutes later they came back with chicken hearts. Again he said no thanks, and finally after another 10 minutes of no steak, he went up to the waiter and simply asked to forget the all you can eat as he’s just not going to eat anything anymore, because at this point we needed to leave for the comedy show in 20 minutes or less. The waiter expressed his apology saying they will now all of a sudden bring out steak but he simply said no thanks.
I ordered a grilled sirloin steak, the waiter did not even bother to ask how I wanted it cooked. So I left my seat to go tell him I wanted the steak cooked medium rare. He said my apologies, absolutely I’ll let them know. Little did I know he must have not asked me because it doesn’t matter how you want it cooked, it’s almost inedible anyways. Quite possibly the worst cooked steak I’ve ever had. The pictures almost do not even do it justice because at some points I had to wash it down with water it was so hard to eat. I had not eaten anything all day hoping to feast at dinner, awful mistake on my part. However the one plus to all of this, is that the rice and beans were delicious. At least they got one thing right.
My mother ordered sea bass, there’s not much to it other than it came out completely cold. At this point my parents were already livid and we just wanted to get the check and leave so we can go get something to eat at prudential center, luckily the food there was ten times better than this restaurant. They were nice enough to take my father’s order off the bill but sadly had to pay for all the rest of the inedible food because we did not even bother telling them how bad it was, as we were now on a time crunch. Also hilarious how gratuity is included, possibly because the food is awful so often, that the waiter’s need to get paid regardless. Our waiter was not very good at his job but extremely nice. We knew it was not entirely his fault and if it were not for the gratuity already added into the bill, he would have gotten a bigger tip, as my family always leaves 20%, but I guess you get what you deserve.
I now see that there are many reviews that are alike and say the same thing, it is our fault for not reviewing them thoroughly, otherwise we would have never wasted our time. If you’re deciding on coming to this restaurant I suggest walk farther down the street and you’ll find plenty more, with far better options and without a doubt, better food.
Unbelievable lack of respect from the manager. I ended up being treated with unforgivable rudeness. I can’t believe someone with so little education and professionalism is in charge of a restaurant. Truly shameful. I really hope they improve their customer service, because right now, they’re just driving people away.
We came all the way from Miami on vacation and left with a bad impression of this place.
They also seem to have the habit of automatically adding a 20% service charge, even for small groups.
During our recent visit, we were assisted by a staff member (an Ecuadorian/Hispanic woman with long dark hair) who rushed our order and came across as extremely rude and visibly annoyed. Unfortunately, the drink we received was also poorly made.
Service is what brings customers back, and it’s always been one of the reasons I’ve continued to visit since 2014. That’s why it’s truly disappointing to see such a decline after what appears to be changes in personnel. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and works toward restoring the welcoming experience this place used to offer.
By the way, I do not usually behave in the manner you are suggesting. I believe it would be more appropriate for you to focus on improving your customer service, as the attention we received was truly disappointing. The overall experience left much to be desired, and honestly, I would not return to your establishment. The people who were with me that day also left with a negative impression and share the same opinion about your restaurant.
I genuinely hope you take steps to improve, for the sake of both yourself and your staff, as no business can succeed without its customers.
We came for Valentine’s Day, reserved a table 1 month in advance, when we arrived there was a line and nobody checking on it. After a while they came back and said no tables were available even if you had a reservation. We waited and when we finally got a table, it was near the entrance were all the people waiting would be almost on top of our table. We ordered the rodizio and after almost 3 hours in the restaurant, we got 5 pieces of meat. We’re ignored multiple times when the guy with the meat came near to our table, however the other servers came to us at least 3 times to ask if we’re done with our food (what food?). Also we ordered 2 sodas and they forgot about them until they came a fourth time to get us to leave. We will definitely not come back, the worst service I have ever experienced in a Rodizio place.
