Really enjoyed my meal here. Still slightly full from a big lunch, forced myself to eat out to continue to taste what Oaxaca had to offer.

I chose this restaurant due to the proximity to my hotel and the reviews so adding a few more stars for Casa Mook.

From the moment I arrived service was tentative and I wanted to order several things from the menu but was guided to try the Mole de semillas de calabaza – A dish symbolizing ancestral culinary roots, made with native seeds and regional processes.

I chose the one with chicken thigh, it came with two warm and comforting white tortillas and I still had some left so asked for another tortilla (a blue corn one was delivered) to mop up the rest of the succulent chicken and yummy mole.

Highly recommend.

Atmosphere for price point in Oaxaca where I’ve been to the more expensive restaurants and didn’t get as good service, flavorful and generous portions and attentive staff.

We had a great experience eating dinner here. Everything tasted delicious, and the service was great. The restaurant was cute and very well maintained. I love atole and I ordered two here. The mole de maíz was delicious and slightly spicy. It had a yummy flavor. The corn ice cream was cool to try, everyone at the table liked it. All the mixed drinks we got also tasted delicious. It was cool to try their seasonal menu drinks. We would definitely eat here again.

This restaurant serves authentic Oaxaca food. We shared the chicken black mole (came with rice and tamales) and 5 beef tacos with a beer. Tasted great and was filling enough. One friendly waiter spoke English well and the menu was also in English. Very helpful. Very clean. I will return because I’m curious about some of those other dishes. If you haven’t been there do yourself a favour and check it out!

I wish I could give more than five stars, the service was so friendly and great. A classy and elegant joint providing authentic Mexican dishes with a modern perspective.
Spanish and English menus, the staff explain each dish with care and interest.
Great to see into the kitchen and how they prepare the food with love.
A must visit if seeking innovative Oaxacan cuisine.

I ordered pork with potatoes. The potatoes were very tasty but the pork was dry, stringy and tough. I didn’t feel it had much flavor other than the sauce that surrounded it.

We’d heard so much about Casa Mook and were looking forward to having a really great experience, sadly not this time for us!

I am a foodie and this the best place in Oaxaca that we have found. Classic dishes and ones with a modern twists. Server spoke English and could describe the dishes. They have plenty of English menus too. Service was excellent. I highly recommend it. Nice dessert in pic.

Casa Mook is a true gem in Oaxaca. From the moment we arrived, everything felt thoughtful, calm, and beautifully curated. The space is stunning—stylish, clean, and full of character—while still feeling comfortable and welcoming.

The attention to detail really stands out, from the design to the little touches that make your stay feel special. The location is ideal for exploring Oaxaca, yet it still feels like a peaceful retreat at the end of the day.

This would be my #1 recommended restaurant for tourists visiting Oaxaca. Great authentic food, and not too expensive. Amazing service, awesome location. Our server Alberto was awesome. We had the Pozole and would highly recommend. Also, the tortilla ice cream was fantastic.

Absolutely delicious food! Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, and the service was quick and attentive. Aldrin assisted me, and he was incredibly professional and spoke excellent English, which made the experience even smoother and more enjoyable. The place itself is spotless, cozy, and full of charm – you can really feel the love they put into everything.

I’m confused..It’s my first time visiting Mexico and beforehand the only Mexican food I had was tacos. After trying both red and green pozole, I was thinking about what I have been missing in my life. No doubt the best thing I have eaten in the last few years. To my fellow Asian friends, it’s worth the long journey.
