HAND MADE TORTILLAS that taste so fresh!!!!! We came for breakfast and the food is so fresh, well prepared, and delicious. High quality, non greasy authentic Mexican food. The chorizo is seasoned well and they give you generous portions, will definitely be coming back

Casa Mexicana Restaurante is a quaint Mexican food restaurant located on Route 130 in North Brunswick, NJ. Not fancy, but a fun and good food vibe. We ordered the chicken Fajita, Empanadas, and Birria Tacos. The fajitas came out sizzling hot, fresh, delicious, and on point, with fresh tortillas in a fabric pouch. The Empanada was crunchy, and the birria tacos were so flavorful. We were the only ones dining in on a Tuesday evening, and the service was fantastic. There were a few people walking in for takeout orders. Looking forward to going back.

Unfortunately, our experience at Casa Mexicana fell short of expectations. Despite rave reviews, our lunch visit left much to be desired. The Mexican Chicken sandwich was disappointing with stale bread and overcooked chicken. The fish tacos, Mexican style, failed to impress compared to others I’ve had. Service was lackluster.
Oddly enough, Casa Mexicana is the first Mexican restaurant I’ve been to that doesn’t offer a complimentary serving of chips and salsa.

Great food here, service was good and folks were friendly. Large portions as well! Orange hot sauce is chips were fresh. Chicken in the flautas was seasoned well. Pollo enchiladas verdes was tasty and filling. Will definitely be back again.

I’ve ordered here before and have been served decent size but this time was absolutely done dirty I paid $22.39 for a platter goat and a bottled coke. Probably shy of a scoop of rice and less than a scoop of beans and not to mention I just got the skin of the goat. I’ve never been served so little. Way too expensive for the amount of food I’ve received.

Went to the hair salon next door and was hungry for some authentic Mexican food. This was just the ticket. Super authentic. The vibes inside are pretty toned down. Plastic tablecloths and more of a deli feel than a sit down place. But the food is fantastic.
I ordered a beef empanada which was just a little bland, but I also ordered the birria tacos. Dipping everything into that super flavorful and deep broth made it all better. They had two sauces — a green salsa and a pinkish orangish creamy sauce that was delicious.
Service was very cordial but be warned, they don’t speak English very fluently. I was able to get by with my high school Spanish and pointing at the menu.
I got a burrito to go for my husband, and that was also great with the addition of the birria broth lol… by itself it was also a little plain. I’d probably ask for addition of Pico or cheese to add some flavor.
I want to come back and try some other dishes. There were plenty of other diners and I kept checking out what they had ordered…

Idk who made the empanadas today, but I these are the best I’ve ever had! Usually when I get the chicken and cheese empanadas, but I have to use the salsa Verda to get more flavor. This time the chicken was tossed in seasoning and had a few peppers. I would give them 5 stars but I’ve ordered more than 30 times and this is the first time they’ve seasoned the chicken.

So many places call themselves “authentic” Mexican and simply aren’t. If you want good, honest to god Mexican food, this place is your best option. The carne asada tostadas were cheap and above all delicious.

I followed this establishment from there previous location in Franklin Park to rt 130 because the food is that good and the owner & staff are so kind. You need modifications, just ask and they really try to accommodate. The red in house made hot sauce is the BEST. I can drink it lol.
The pricing is reasonable, portions are great. Everything taste fresh and homemade from (beans, tortillas, friend shrimp, grilled proteins, etc.)
Additionally very clean inside. This is my go to for Mexican cuisine
