12•6•24 well came back and tried their flautas, and man, are they good, freshly made everything on the plate is great. Staff is very friendly and service is good. I hope if you go, you get the same service as I did. All the food is delicious. Will try other dishes oh and the tamales they have are very good not dried well served and have meat in them vs. Some that don’t and are pretty good, decent size. Give it a try guys it won’t disappoint, yet sometimes they run out because it sells very well, especially the carne guisada that goes pretty quick.
12•7•24 I was here yesterday and came back today. On the weekend Saturday I ordered the nopal, and the egg plate was very impressive. Very well served and great flavor, husband ordered the beef milanesa that was delicious, not greasy and very good. Them potatoes that come with it are also very good. The flour tortillas are very good, not hard yet soft. I really recommend this place. y’all give it a try you wont regret it. Pictures below
11•6•24 came for a good late lunch was amazing Mrs Norma made my awesome flautas they were fresh and hot, those potatoes on the side are made perfect not to soft not to crispy but an awesome flavor to this dish I highly recomend this little hidden gem in the area. So far times I’ve been here, and I hope your experience will be the same as mine. Thank you, staff.
11•20•24 The first time here came on my lunch hour about 1:30pm and had a good experience debating to come but just decided last min. At the stop light , I saw it and pulled up. Great call . I had a very good Carne guisado plate as it should be great. Compliments to the chef at that time. This is Carne guisada IYKYK.. AND NO POTATOES Perfect. (“Most places want to pull it off by saying it is the dish, and it is NOT that’s Beef Stew.”) Now this what I ate today was carne guisada was super good well served meat was tender, the rice was so good and not dried and mash beans everything was amazing the presintation is perfect, and tasting was great I recomend this little gem in the wall it’s a small buisness but very nice and clean and the waitress was very hospitable even tho she was the only one. Hey, she got the job done, so give her props and the cook. Thank you for your food. Apparently, this was the last of the Mohicans they ran out of the Carne guisada because another customer wanted some, but I got the last of it. Maybe that’s why it tasted so good that the last of the pan is best, lol. Anyways give it a try their menu selection isn’t big, but the food is good. Prices are reasonable for servings, and my dish wasn’t worth the 10.99 total 14.00 with drink. I yet have to go back and try another dish. Thank you, Casa Mexicana.

I came for late breakfast at about 10:45 but was able to get the pollo con mole lunch special. One drumstick and one thigh with mole and rice and beans. Mole was great, good flavor and not too sweet.

Honestly one of the worst meals i’ve had in a while. “T-Bone steak” was in between steamed and pan fried and bland, we got served salsa and animal crackers, was charged $1.75 extra for a tortilla de harina ( we got 2) under the assumption it was included with our plates, the salsas were weird tasting. On top of it all they were playing non stop church music. I’d recommend not eating here. Also we paid $30 for 2 breakfast plates and a mexican coke.

I usually don’t come here for barbacoa, but was going to try it since it is close to work. So I got a pound and it was a mistake it is so greasy that it has no flavor, and texture is nasty. Such bad way to treat myself for fathers day.

Love to eat here when in Brownsville. Simple, clean and great food at reasonable price. Sometimes what we get is a surprise because we don’t speak Spanish, but always delicious. Breakfast and lunch specials. Great location.

My experience today…I ordered Carne Guisada, 1 barbacoa taco and 1 bacon and egg taco. I ordered a coffee and my wife ordered an agua fresca. My total came out to $38. The food was ok, service was prompt, coffee was hot but not great. The coffee tasted like generic sysco coffee. For $38, I would prefer another spot. I don’t feel the food and my experience today was worth $38.

We had the Mexican plate lunch special 8.99 . 2 hamburger tacos ,2 enchiladas 1 tostada, rice and beans. The portion was a decent size. At 1.80 an item. But I would expect better than hamburger tacos from a Mexican restaurant it’s not Taco Bell , they lacked flavor. The lettuce and tomato was fresh, the beans and rice where good.
