Today marked the grand opening of Casa Guipzot’s new La Villita location, and what a celebration it was for fans of Mexican wine. After three years of growth and passion, this expansion into the heart of San Antonio’s historic La Villita Arts Village feels like the perfect match.
Casa Guipzot bills itself as the first all-Mexican wine shop and tasting room in the country—and now it’s the biggest retailer of Mexican wine in Texas. Stepping into 418 Villita Street, Building 2, the vibe is rich with heritage, culture, and ambition.
At the grand opening, there was wine from celebrated Mexican growing regions like Valle de Guadalupe, Coahuila, Querétaro, and Guanajuato—paired with mariachi music, bites, and a ribbon-cutting under that unforgettable La Villita sun. A few lucky attendees even got a glass of bubbles on the house.
Salena and Eduardo Guipzot have poured themselves into this dream—building a wine club, hosting events, and bringing a new kind of energy to downtown. It’s a celebration of family, culture, and the incredible potential of Mexican winemaking that deserved every toast.
