Casa di Amici is a “must stop” for our annual visits to Kauai. Its creative and delectable Italian cuisine with a Pacific Rim touch, nuances the flavors of the Asian/Polynesian cultures which make up the population of the Hawaiian people. In our three visits, the servers have been attentive, knowledgeable about the menu and full of the “Aloha” spirit. I am astonished to see a few extremely critical reviews regarding service. In each of our visits, a mature “water boy” has come to refill our glasses and to inquire about our food and service. Sensing after a moment that he was much more interested in our responses than a busboy, I asked, “are you the chef?” With a smile he acknowledged his identity and solicited any comments/questions we might have. In response to our inquiry about the seasoning of a Gorgonzola sauce, he described in detail the steps of its preparation and invited us to phone him (with a note pad in hand) and he would share with us a detailed recipe. Anyone seeking “plain old” pasta and spaghetti sauce may be disappointed. Anyone seeking bold, yet nuanced flavors served with surprising combinations of traditional and nontraditional ingredients will be delighted that the portions are generous enough to allow the wonderful dining experience to be repeated at home.

Plenty of other good places to eat in the area. Service was HORRIBLE. We were forgotten the moment we were sat down. We were sat next to the aquarium tank and got to enjoy our meal watching the big fish peck at and eat the poor (and obviously abused) eel. Once we finally got the attention of our waitress, they were inflexible on sides (and the included ones were yucky). Had an $11 glass of Chard that was worth about $5. The meal was underwhelming, and had to struggle to get someone to bring us our check.
Lot’s of other restaurants in Poipu that actually WANT your business. This place was busy, but the staff sure don’t know how to handle busy. I guess some restaurants just survive on first time patrons.

What a surprise! Casa di Amici was an excellent Italian restaurant in Poipu, Kauai, HI. Every entree was full of flavor and the service was friendly, casual, and efficient. Even the house wines were good. My Ahi special was incredibly flavorful and I left not one bite on the plate. This is a hidden gem.

We enjoyed our dinner from beginning to end! This is not a place to go if you are in a hurry – the service was attentive but never hurried. The menu is large, and we felt the preparations were wonderfully complex. I am thinking we will go back some night just to sample several of the appetizers – each of which sound delicious.

Underwhelmed. Wife’s meal was A Plus, mine was C Minus to F. Tried to charge for two wines instead of two iced teas!
Save about 20% by going to La Spezia, where the food and service excel.
Also our waiter may have been high.

Eat here every time I’m in Kauai. Compared to the other over priced tourist traps, this is a huge value. Great wait staff and amazing food!

Every time we come to Kauai this is a must stop. The calamari and the Cesar salad are the best.

Terrible service but really good food. I only saw the waiter twice. When I ordered the food and when the check came.
