I saw a comment saying the tacos didn’t offer a ‘genuine authentic taco experience,’ but in my opinion they exceeded expectations. I’d even go as far as to say they taste more authentic than the tacos at Señor Ramon, which over time have slowly been whitewashed to cater to the surrounding area.
I ordered the birria quesataco platter + 1 additional quesataco and a tamarind juice, which came with a side of rice and beans. The refried beans were absolute heaven. I kid you not, so many places fail at making proper frijoles líquidos fritos, but these were on point.
I also asked if I could bring in my service pet, and they were more than happy to accommodate. We ended up sitting on the benches a couple minutes down by the parking area, which worked out perfectly.
The inside of the restaurant was cute and welcoming. And huge shoutout to the hostess at the front, 10 out of 5 stars. She was a sweet young lady, very accommodating, and had some great food recommendations.
If I’m ever in the area again, I’m definitely coming back.
Highly recommend!
Two people from our party of four arrived early and ordered drinks and appetizers. One of the drinks didn’t arrive until after all the food was served, even though we reminded the staff two or three times.
The guacamole deserves special attention – it was basically diced tomato with a bit of avocado. Thanks for saving money on the food I paid for.
The food overall was about 3/5. It’s hard to make Mexican food bad, but they came close. The shrimp taco was especially disappointing – bland and lacking flavor compared to other places.
We asked for the late drink to be removed from the check since it arrived when we were nearly done eating. They could offer it, I think. Based on the total, it looked like they did not do that.
Then it took them quite a while to bring the check too, which made the slow service even more noticeable.
There’s clearly a problem with team coordination and service. Probably won’t return, and I can’t recommend it. There are far better Mexican restaurants around.
We’re all excited to have a great Mexican restaurant in Leesburg. It’s a lively atmosphere when you walk in a there is a hostess at the ready to seat you. We went at 8p on a Sunday night and they were about half full.
The waiter was on us quickly and brought water and took our drink orders. He came back and got our dinner orders and we declined the chips and salsa/quac.
This next bit is the reason for the four stars on service. It was NOT the waiter, it was the fact that three people ordered at the same time, the veggie and shrimp order came out, then a few minutes later the Beerile and Al Pastor order came out, and then five plus minutes later the taco platter came out. That’s odd, since a polite person waits for everyone to get their food before eating.
The tacos were great and the middle sauce was so hot that we didn’t even try the hotter sauce. One issue was the refried beans were super liquid and tasted a lot like chicken broth and didn’t seem to have much of any bean meat in them. We chalked that up to being one of the last orders on a Sunday night. They should have said they were out of refried beans rather than serving what they did.
All in all, the service was great, the atmosphere was great, and the tacos were great. I just had a couple of nitpicks that I shared above.
Regardless, I’ll be back soon!
