I have to say, I was skeptical. The last few places we tried were nothing to get excited about. But, walking into this place, I noticed things. It was very clean. There were half a dozen people inside waiting for their orders. It just smelled good in there and felt very cozy. The staff was on point. It wasn’t a minute or two before they greeted us. Excellent menu options. I recommend the Carne Esada platter and the mixed fajitas were excellent. Look, we waited a bit for our food, but it was so fresh, and it smelled amazing(worth the wait). I damn near stopped on the way home to sneak a bite.. Our food was still piping hot when we got home, and not a single person had anything left after we ate. Well done, Casa Cortes.

Wow, just wow. Good reviews lead us to this place while looking for somewhere to eat in Reading, PA. The food here is incredible! This was the best Quesabirria I have had. The tacos and quesadilla were delicious. The consumé was so rich with flavor I had to drink the rest of it at the end, wasting it would have been criminal. The staff were friendly and the prices were very reasonable. A very clean establishment with excellent food, you have to give this place a shot.

This cute little spot is definitely a must try! I enjoy eating my way through their menu every Friday with my coworker, we have become regulars because the food is seriously delicious and we can’t get enough! The staff is friendly and always welcoming. Step out of your comfort and try new things! Especially their barría tacos which are my favorites!

I Had the Burrito, the price was fair and good for the size. But the quality of the chicken shows. The chicken tasted like frozen grilled chicken.
Plain bland looking chicken. Although it tasted seasoned along with the other ingredients. Just wish the chicken was better quality and more fresh. Even if the price was an extra couple dollars.

Popped in for dinner before a show at the nearby arena. Birria tacos were phenomenal! Fast casual place was crowded in a tight space, but you know it’s going to be good when people keep coming in when every seat is taken.

Gotta thank Casa Cortes for introducing me to the Birria phenomenon. Not sure why it took so long to get to Berks. That consommé is so gosh darn delicious. It’s like the Mexican version of the French dip. Tacos and quesadillas you can dip in a rich, dark beef broth. A match made in heaven.
Minus one measly little star for lack of fajita sides. No lettuce, pico, cheese, or sour cream? It was basically the chicken, peppers, and flour tortillas. None of the standard fajita toppings to speak of. Such a shame.

Ordered two quesadillas on DoorDash. Both had very little meat. I will attach pictures and hope to get a response from the owner on Google. The only reason I’m not giving it a one star is because we have been here before and did not have problems with our meals. However, it should be noted that we’ve never ordered quesadillas from here before.
If I was the owner and saw these pictures, I would be embarrassed to charge $8 a quesadilla for this product.

Excellent tacos, reasonably priced. I tried the grilled chicken, tinga (shredded chicken) and shrimp, and each was uniquely delicious. (I couldn’t resist taking two bites before taking the photo.) And the fact that it’s within walking distance of the Santander Arena is a nice bonus. It was a great place to get a quick dinner before a show, and I’m planning to go back the next time I’m in Reading.

I was so excited for my order of chilaquiles and they don’t even come with cheese or sour cream. They’re naked ☹️

Although a small venue (if the party is larger than 4 order take out) the vibe was awesome. The staff was helpful and friendly. Very fast service excellent for work lunch.
