As someone who is incredibly picky about my chilaquiles having tried over 15+ different spots across San Diego, I don’t say this lightly: Casa Brava is easily in my Top 3.

This was my second visit, and they have officially won me over. The Chipotle Chilaquiles are the stars here; they’ve mastered the elusive balance of rich, smoky flavor without losing that essential crunch. The portions are generous, leaving you perfectly satisfied.

Don’t sleep on the Cafe de Olla either. It is easily one of the best versions in the city. Combined with the incredibly friendly staff and the authentic traditional dishes, this place is a gem. I’ll definitely be back for a third round!

We had brunch here recently and we loved it! So glad that a cute and delicious brunch is located in national city.

We ordered:
• fresa con crema pancakes
• banana French toast
• steak and eggs
• huevos rancheros
• chilaquiles torta
• green juice
• cafe de olla

Everything we tried was great but my fav bites were the fresa con crema pancakes and the steak and eggs. The torta was also a unique choice and we had it with the chipotle cream.

Would definitely come back for their delicious dishes! Also, Michelle was awesome and super attentive!

Very tasteful and inexpensive breakfast. They have a good variety of Mexican food. The coffee ☕️ is delicious. The portions are pretty big. The server was on point always asking us if we were okay or needed anything.

We came for breakfast with several adults and kids and had an awesome experience. Service was quick and attentive and the food was phenomenal. We had the chilaquiles, molletes, pancakes, and one of the Benedicts. Definitely will come back when we’re in town again!

Casa Brava serves a serious Mexican brunch. From the chorizo Benedicts to the churro French toast, there’s so much to choose from and it all hits. Love it

This restaurant is located in a public market and seating is limited in the actual restaurant but additional seating is available in the hallways of the public market, which is fine. Coffee was good, we had the regular coffee, it was not bitter and well balanced (super small cups, we had like 4-5 refills). The food was traditional Mexican with a modern twist. The service was nice and server was attentive. We did not feel rushed and the prices are reasonable. We will be back.

Very nice place! The meal was great, and our server was wonderful. Our food came out in a reasonable time, and everything about the experience was convenient even the way you pay. They use a QR system, which made checkout super easy and helped us avoid waiting in line, especially with our large party. Overall, a really enjoyable experience!
Will be definitely coming back!

Authentic Mexican breakfast served with care. We really loved everything we ate! From the chilaquiles to the machaca with eggs. Worth the trip to the market on 8th.

This place is popular and extremely busy on Sunday’s. Plan on being patient.

We came here because of the good reviews and picture reviews so we though of giving it a go instead of going to out go to restaurants. We ordered the chilaquiles [red salsa], Steak and Eggs & a kids pancake plate.

The food was okay and not at the quality for it’s price. We are actually shocked at the amount of reviews saying the food was good, they must have bad taste or not know what good food is.

1. The pancakes are clearly box pancake – chewy, thin and dry.
2. The chilaquiles had a good crunch & salsa was not bad. The eggs are not fresh they are pre-made & cold when served.
3. The Steak was not fresh and was reheated in oil.

Overall it was edible but definitely not a place i would recommend or come back too- very mid. It was generic ( not authentic mexican food).

We go out to eat at different places in San Diego & I’d recommend Aunt Emmas just down the street instead of this place. I think it might just be a convient location or for a quick grab & go. We spent 66 dollars and will not be coming back.

Just to give this place benefit of doubt- It’s a small little food shop not a full out restaurant. I think they just started and are providing cheaper food for a reason to stay afloat.

Really good food and portions. A bit pricey but then it’s average for San Diego nowadays. Good service, Cafe de olla refills are delicious.
