This was my second visit, and they have officially won me over. The Chipotle Chilaquiles are the stars here; they’ve mastered the elusive balance of rich, smoky flavor without losing that essential crunch. The portions are generous, leaving you perfectly satisfied.
Don’t sleep on the Cafe de Olla either. It is easily one of the best versions in the city. Combined with the incredibly friendly staff and the authentic traditional dishes, this place is a gem. I’ll definitely be back for a third round!
We ordered:
• fresa con crema pancakes
• banana French toast
• steak and eggs
• huevos rancheros
• chilaquiles torta
• green juice
• cafe de olla
Everything we tried was great but my fav bites were the fresa con crema pancakes and the steak and eggs. The torta was also a unique choice and we had it with the chipotle cream.
Would definitely come back for their delicious dishes! Also, Michelle was awesome and super attentive!
Will be definitely coming back!
This place is popular and extremely busy on Sunday’s. Plan on being patient.
The food was okay and not at the quality for it’s price. We are actually shocked at the amount of reviews saying the food was good, they must have bad taste or not know what good food is.
1. The pancakes are clearly box pancake – chewy, thin and dry.
2. The chilaquiles had a good crunch & salsa was not bad. The eggs are not fresh they are pre-made & cold when served.
3. The Steak was not fresh and was reheated in oil.
Overall it was edible but definitely not a place i would recommend or come back too- very mid. It was generic ( not authentic mexican food).
We go out to eat at different places in San Diego & I’d recommend Aunt Emmas just down the street instead of this place. I think it might just be a convient location or for a quick grab & go. We spent 66 dollars and will not be coming back.
Just to give this place benefit of doubt- It’s a small little food shop not a full out restaurant. I think they just started and are providing cheaper food for a reason to stay afloat.
