As the evening progressed, I observed that individuals continued to be seated and order food, despite the fact that it was 9:20 pm. This situation deeply angered me. I had recommended this restaurant to several friends, and unfortunately, they also experienced negative service. One of my friends shared a similar sentiment, stating that while the food was exceptional, the service was subpar. In my opinion, Advocados Cocina Mexicana & bar offers a superior dining experience. This will be the final time I visit that establishment, and I will also refrain from recommending it to anyone. It is genuinely embarrassing. I hope ownership or management takes action !!!
The service felt a bit disorganized. We were often unsure who our server or bartender was, as multiple people would assist us, making communication somewhat scattered. That said, the owner was kind enough to introduce himself and personally address our concerns, which we appreciated.
Overall, we had a great time. The margaritas were a solid 10/10, and aside from the esquites, the food was very enjoyable.
Service was excellent—our server was polite, attentive, and professional, giving us a great first impression. The place is clean and new, though the paper menus need replacing; one was so dirty my wife had to ask for another.
Appetizers were the highlight—chicharron and bacon-wrapped jalapeño poppers were both excellent and a good value. The entrees, however, were disappointing. My wife’s churrasco was a tough, chewy cut, and my birria ramen was just okay for the price, with poor meat quality despite ordering medium-rare. Handmade tortillas were a nice touch, and chips with the first salsa are free (refills cost extra).
Atmosphere is where Casablanca shines—well-decorated, lively, and perfect for large parties, with a massive LCD display that makes it a fun place to gather. Drinks were solid. Overall, the restaurant feels slightly expensive for what you get.
One major miss: no baby changing station in either restroom, which made things inconvenient for our 7-month-old and had to be changed in the car.
Jenny made the perfect suggestion when it came to the entree. Quesa Birria Tacos come in a set of 3, with a side of Spanish rice and the sauce to dip your tacos in was delicious! Of course you can’t go without dessert and it wouldn’t be authentic without the churros. Filled with their own flavor and a lovely chocolate sauce! Can’t forget ice cream on the side as well.
If your looking for a place to celebrate I recommend stopping in and letting them know you are there to celebrate. You will be in for a treat you won’t forget! Look around you just might find the specific Tequila you are looking for! Will for sure be coming back and trying something different next time!
Sat at the bar and explained the situation to the bar tender who was a bit confused and didn’t seem to fully understand what was happening. The bar around us was dirty and I had to wipe it myself since the bartender didn’t offer. We got our margaritas which were actually pretty good (flakka margarita and the black mamba) I would’ve ordered another one if the service would’ve been better. We had to ask for a menu since we didn’t get one. Ordered the esquites and carnitas fajitas. Food came out quickly and the bartender came and asked us how things were going. We had to tell her we needed plates and silverware and she’s like “oh right” and scurries away. Didn’t give us time to say we also didn’t get tortillas.
The esquites were supposed to be grilled corn…it’s not. It’s just boiled corn with mayo and spicy seasoning on it. Do not recommend at all. The fajitas flavor was good and a good portion but they only gave us 3 tortillas so I ended up just eating the remaining fajita mix on top of chips. The rice and beans that came with it were also cold. I would’ve asked for more tortillas but they charge extra for more chips so I don’t want to have an extra charge for another tortilla. A second drink was also never offered and nor was water the entire time we sat at the bar (finished our drinks about halfway through dinner).
Overall I was very disappointed in the service and the food being ok just doesn’t make up for that. If they were extremely busy or overworked I would be a bit more lenient but there were ample employees for the number of patrons. I might order the fajitas to go next time. I’m willing to give it another try and will update my review next time.
Really fun atmosphere and decor. Great date spot!
Service is still working out kinks. Attitudes, knowledge, and experience of the staff could be improved.
We will return! Really good food and convenient location.
The staff are very attentive. Food was ok but expensive. Steak was chewy- house made tortillas were a home run very good. I’d give it a try for some other menu items. Menu is extensive almost too big.
